We had a lovely fortnight in this hotel, and just wanted to share our experience with readers.
The rooms are quite small on the whole, so are the showers however it is a really good 3star hotel, not far from St Agnello or Sorrento. There are quite a few steps up to the front door, which may be difficult for anyone disabled in any way.
The reception and restaurant staff were brilliant, so helpful and always happy to oblige, service in the restaurant was excellent so was the lovely food. You are able to order lunchtime snacks which are very good, but have to be paid for at the end of your stay. (Keep a tally if you have youngsters with you, or you may be in for a shock at the end of the holiday).
We had 2 rooms with balconies which were nice to sit on at the end of the afternoon with a glass of wine. The pool was very small, with no shallow childrens section, the sunbathing area next to the pool was extremely small also, neither suitable in my opinion for small children or babies. The 2 teenagers travelling with me were fine, however younger children would probably get very bored as there wasn't much in the way of entertainment for them.
There was a sunbathing rooftop which was lovely and peaceful most of the time, unless small children were up there, again getting bored as there was nothing to entertain them.
The hotel location is quite peaceful, however if you do decide to walk into St Agnello it's about a ten minute walk uphill just around the corner from the hotel then you reach an extremely busy main road, which is difficult to cross as none of the locals take any notice of zebra crossings at all, they are just stripes of paint on the road. In St Agnello there are some nice little bars/cafes, shops and good barbers.
Sorrento is about a 15 to 20minute stroll down the hill, or you can catch the local bus, which is cheap at 1 euro, however you do have to buy the tickets in advance from the tobacconists. Make sure you clock your ticket when you climb on the bus, in the machine near the driver otherwise you could be in deep trouble if the inspector gets on! Sorrento has far more shops, bars, restaurants, cafes etc. We spent many evenings strolling around the shops then got a taxi back to the hotel, which was about 17 euros.
We all really enjoyed our stay in La Pergola, however it was a little spoilt during the final days of our second week, as the 2 teenagers staying with me, had some cosmetics go missing from their make-up bags, on the dressing table. I thought they were being ridiculous and told them it would turn up when they packed their bags to come home. They both insisted that they had searched thoroughly for their cosmetics in the room. Needless to say, the cosmetics never did turn up, we had to replace them in Sorrento. I was very disappointed also, to discover at home, that my £10 tweezers were missing from my make-up bag when I unpacked. They had remained in my make-up bag on the dressing table the whole holiday unless they were in use by me. Of course it was too late to report anything when I was back in the UK, however I would warn other holidaymakers considering staying in the hotel, to hide their make-up unless they don't mind others who have access to the rooms, helping themselves.

We have just spent a fantastic two weeks at this small but excellent hotel which in my opinion is under rated. The staff are fantastic. We cannot speak highly enough of all of them. The food is to die for - you wouldn`t want to eat out anywhere else. There was a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. There was a great romantic evening, A Sorrento evening and super party on the roof. The location is excellent - a short walk to Sorrento, the beach , the port but yet in a lovely quiet location away from the bustle. There is a fantastic roof terrace with brilliant views over Vesuvius and the bay of Naples. It' a great place to chill out in the sunshine. One example of the kind of service is that I left my jacket in the room. On arrival home there was an email from Massimo, the manager, asking for my address so he could send it to me!We have already booked to go back again next year with two wonderful people we met there this year.

Words could not tell you how beautiful this hotel is, All the staff are genuinely brilliant, they were all so helpful, kind. The food was out of this world, three choices for each course. Breakfast was just huge as well, such a choice. The romantic evening was my favourite. The rooms were lovely, clean, ample room, hairdryers, shower, bidet, toilet. Tv in the room, films for you to watch free in the evenings. Our room was at the back looking out on the mountains. The pool was large enough for us, ample room to sit around and read. The terrace area was heavenly. I cannot wait to go back there.

Nice little hotel tucked away just off the main road into Sorrento. A fairly quiet area, some 15-20 minutes walk to the main centre of Sorrento, or 5 minutes on the bus. The staff at the hotel are fantastic - eager to please and genuinely nice people. The food was excellent - typical local food but seemingly chosen to suit all tastes. Nice bar area and lovely garden bar. Small pool with limited seating (4 small tables and about 8 sunbeds)- but not a problem as there is a sun terrace on the hotel roof with a shower for cooling down, and a phone link for ordering food and drinks. From here you get great views of the mountains - and Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples. Our ground floor room was simple but totally adequate - though no view. Internet access is available for those who need to stay in touch, and rooms have direct dial phones. Some entertainment provided in the evenings - a "Romantic Evening" with candles and music, a "Sorrento Evening" with traditional dishes and music, and a couple of evenings with a singer. A mix of guests, mostly from the UK but some Italians too - couples, families and across the age groups. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend La Pergola.

This hotel was by far the best htel I have ever stayed at. Perhaps not the highest star rating, however we put that down only to the small pool because we could not fault it in any way. The staff were excellent, very courteous and friendly. The food was superb, first holiday Ive been on where I have had no desire to eat out as the dishes on offer at the hotel were superb.
