Excellent for a relaxing holiday.

If you are a couple looking for a relaxing holiday in an excellent hotel, I would recommend The salo' Du Parc. Our arrival your first view is off the roadside part of the hotel, this does not do justice to the interior or the lakeside part. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, all room have have their views out onto Lake Garda, the hotel being situated directly on the lake shore. The lobby and communal ares are spotless and very comfortable. We found the staff very helpfull and pleasant. The hotel does not offer any entertainment so if you're looking for somewhere that will take young children off your hands this is not the hotel for you. If on the other hand you would like a quiet life by the pool there are plenty of sun loungers available, with a short 5 minute walk into the village to the shops and restaurants. Salo' itself is very nice, it's not as touristy and hence not as busy as some of the Lake Garda towns but convienient for the farry's which run between them. The hotel, like most Italian ones, does not have tea of coffee facilities in the rooms, if it had we would have given it 10 out of 10. We hired a car for our holiday but only used it to and from the airport, the lake ferries being the best way to get around. Would we go back to the Salo' Du Parc, we will next year!

Top Local Tips for Salo

Tip for sporting romantics My tip would be to stay in Malcesine for the following reasons; You are at the livelier end of the lake which is geared up for water sports and mountain activities, it is a pretty town as opposed to Riva which is a little touristy for my liking though great for the day times, Riva and Limione go into shade at about 5 and the sun shines on Malcesine all evening. Salo is beautiful but very quiet - good for an overnight

Boating Book a rental boat ASAP or over the net before you go as they get booked up quickly.

Boats if you want a quick way around the lake, then get the smaller, faster boats. The large boats take at least 2 hours!
