This hotel is beautifully situated overlooking the bay in Salo. We booked into it on spec and secured a double room overlooking the lake at a reasonable nightly rate of €130. The room was tastefully furnished, very comfortable and with all the luxuries expected of a 4 star establishment. The buffet breakfast was adequate with freshly squeezed orange juice being a nice touch.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to potential guests.

Top Local Tips for Salo

Arriving Not on main road. Taxi needed to get to hotel. Hotel ideally situated for visiting other towns on the Lake as ferry terminal close by. Best time to visit Lakes is Spring or late summer.Excellent boutique and designer shops.

Book half board rather than B&B To get there by car head towards the sign for Duomo (ie Cathedral) and when you see the small arched entrance into this part of Salo (with the tiny traffic light) go down that road and veer left at the bottom and park up on the lake front outside the hotel (2 spots for reserved for hotel Duomo) Book in and unload the car then get free ticket for the secure parking about 3 mins drive up the road.

May Weather Whilst lake Garda can be area can enjoy very hot weather in late May- June, our Holiday was May 14 - May 21st & most of the time it was rainy & chilly & between 17c to 21c. Perhaps we were unlucky but Salo is a small place compared with Garda or Riva and there is not a lot to do there, either in this small hotel or in Salo itself.
