The rooms are small and somewhat roughly furnished, but the staff are friendly and speak English. The location is great for access to public transportation -- Termini is the only place in Rome where the two subway lines intersect! The breakfast cost additionally, and you can find the equivalent food cheaper nearby or at the Termini station. Highly recommended for those who don't spend much time in their room while traveling. I suggest taking a room with a shower if you have to choose between shower and toilet, since the showers off the hall are difficult to get used to (tiny, and they run right onto the floor of the bathroom).

AWFUL. The internet site is not real, the rooms are very small, the bathroom small, even the shower is so small that you can stay in for short time. They ask you to pay in advance... DONT DO THAT!!! Before pay, ask to see the room. ADVICE: The breakfast is not included, you have to pay it apart. In a nutshell, it is expensive for a 2 star, and it gives you the service of a 1 star. I strongly NO reccomend this hotel.

The Stromboli Hotel was excellent to stay at. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and bright. Bedrooms are extremely comfortable and roomy. Security boxes come with the room there is no charge. It is very central for getting around Rome whether by foot or by public transport. There is an express bus service outside of the hotel next door and it goes direct to and from the airport. We were unaware of this until the reception staff informed us when we wanted a taxi to the airport on our return. Continental breakfast provided in a bright and pleasant dining room. We intend to return again and again after our first visit to Rome.

Top Local Tips for Rome

rome To all people traveling to Rome if you are not going to travel to other cities in Italy do not stay near the Rome's train station its a dump.

Always walk of take taxis, never drive in Rome. Don't bother hiring a car in Rome the street are too narrow and the traffic is nuts! Just walk and take taxis, it's so easy, and the trains and coaches are great. Taking a coach to Abruzzo or Molise is priceless -- comfortable and you seldom run into other Americans or Brits -- a REAL vacation Italiano! It gets hot during the day and sunny, so bring a baseball cap or hat. You might need a light sweater at night in the summer.

walk best way to tour rome is by walking. See the shops, stop by for a pizza or gelato. Visit the churches found left and right everywhere.Do not spend so much on hotels.
