Located nice and close to the maion train station and very central to tourist sites. Rooms and bathrooms are nice and clean, fairly small. The staff except for one guy in the breakfast room were all unfriendly and fighting between themselves all the time. However I found this to be the case with most of the Romans anyway. Great place to stay just ignore the staff.

Scott House is only 50 meteres away from termini station. Situated in rough area, very much like soho, london. Didn't feel comfortable walking about late at night. Although rooms were clean staff not very friendly.

Top Local Tips for Rome

USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT Use the Internet for research. Get BIT and BIG tickets. The transport system is superb and don't be put off by the crowds. If you're British, forget it, push your way onto trains, don't stand back, you'll only get left on the platform like I did for about 10 minutes!! Then I learnt. Buy your tickets from the newsstands, don't trust the machines in the stations. Explore mass public transport as it should be, but watch out constantly for the pickpockets.

Trains Use the train into and out of Rome as it is located inside the Airport and direct to Central Rome. The taxi rates are way too high and they cheat. Also, a good way to get your ideas as to where you want to go, get on the tourist bus located in front of the Central Train Station and they take you all over Rome for very little costs. Use the Metro but with a multi-day pass. The trains are very crowded during peak hours but it is a bargain.

food and drink Piazza Navona is good for food and Campo di fiori is lively for going out drinking. You will pay a wee bit more in both locations so if you want to save a bit just try one of the side streets off them.
