Don't know where to start, this hotel is awful. Small rooms, we can deal with, but not small, dirty, dangerous, unfinished, unsecure rooms that you can barely open the door to enter. We knew we had blundered when we were advised not to walk around the surrounding streets after dark by the agency taxi driver who brought us from the airport. Light sockets and plug points were hanging out of the walls, with an earth wire clearly visible. The television was broken, the lightshade consisted of two paper napkins on a bare bulb - fire hazard! and the glass shelf above the filthy sink was hanging out of the wall. The door barely opened enough for a person to enter, let alone a person with a suitcase and was in a state of disrepair. This was a third floor room. The first floor rooms seemed to be completely different, with new doors and more secure-looking locks. In fact, the first floor just looked cleaner in general - this is clearly the pictures they use in brochures and web advertising.
Another thing we noted, when we arrived at 1130pm, was that the breakfast pastries and cereal appeared to have been left out, uncovered for the next day. The night porter we complained to about the room (within 5 minutes of checking in), was completely unfazed by our comments - clearly not the first time this has happened to him.
Unsurprisingly, we checked out the next morning - without eating the breakfast. Please take heed folks, DO NOT risk ruining your holiday by staying here. After this brief glitch, we had an amazing time in a wonderful city.
