The hotel is just outside the city, and as such is a very quiet place to stay. The shuttle bus offered by the hotel is a wonderful convenience, dropping us off in the area of Termini Station. The pool was clean and had a lifeguard on duty, making it kid-safe. The staff were exceptional, we were treated professionally, and with a great degree of warmth and courtesy.
I found the breakfast buffet pleasing, offering several different types of coffee, juice, water, and milk. Various breakfast pastries were present along with two varieties of cereal.
The main restaurant was a little pricey, but quality was first rate. Ala carte is always expensive though so no surprises there. the view from our room (7th floor) was simply stunning. Also, the bartender Enrico makes the best Cafe Americano i have ever had. Grazi Enrico!!!
If you are looking for a quality place to stay in Rome without paying an arm and a leg then look no further than the Rouge Et Noir.

Just came back, me & my husband with our 11 year old daughter. I always search for cheap bargains over the internet, this hotel is exactly what you could expect from a 3 star hotel. It is clean, the staff was pleasant & the breakfast buffet was not too bad, the most convenient thing is the shuttle bus which is quite accurate & for only 3 euros each you could go to the city centre & come back, the only disadvantage was the location, I walked around to find a store, I couldn't find but a nice restaurant few minutes walk away which I recommend you try, other than that there was nothing. The swimming pool next to the hotel is good. So all in all is successful. Go for it if you want to save some money, you end up spending the night in town anyway.

Far from Center but OK!

Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our stay at this hotel allthough it was far from the center of rome. The service was ok, breakfast ok, mini bar, 2 working elevators, great view from 7 and 8 floor over rome. A hotel bus takes you to termini and back for 2 Euros per day. It leaves 4 or 5 times a day.

Was Not so Bad

If like me you are reading reviews on this hotel after booking it then don't panic! Yes, hotel was nowhere near Rome centre, cost us 20 euros to get from termini station at 11.15pm. BUT walk to local shop for bus tickets was only 10mins away AND A BARGAIN (4 euros gets you on bus and metro all day so very cheap to travel) would not recommend this walk for young children, has no pavements. Local bus took you to metro then 8 mins later you in centre of Rome. Hotel is spotless, breakfast is continental style but still very good. After waking all day was nice to come back to peace and quite. Pool very good, nobody using it as they out all day, so no probs with
Loungers. Last tram is at 11pm so not suitable for party animals. Nice cafes and bars close buy. Area is very industrial. This is only hotel in area. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed our 3 night stay. Would not use it again but only because so far from centre.

Stayed here recently hotel being renovated no Restaurant Facilities, No Bar Facilities, Filthy Lifts, Unfriendly Staff, Breakfast consisted of Croissants, Cold Coffee, Cornflakes, Sour Milk, Complained no differance. Arrived late first night could not even get a bottle of water. Rooms basic but clean. Swimming pool full of stagnant water.

Top Local Tips for Rome

Tour Busses I uses the 110 Hop on Hop off service (double decker red busses). 11 stops throughout the city with a map showing the major attractions & which stop you need for them. A Ticket for the whole day cost 16 euros. Other bus services were available but I was happy with 110 & stuck with them.

The Metro is your best friend. Definitely utilize the Metro while in Rome! It is the best, most affordable way to navigate the city. A 24 hour pass only costs about 4 euro a person and between the red and blue line you can get near all of the major attractions. Also, if you have time check out the main Terminal station. It has awesome shops, and restaurants for those missing a taste of the U.S.! If you have forgotten anything for your trip or daily excursions, the stores at the main Terminal station are a great resource!
