The location was not a problem, you can purchase 3, 5 or 7 day travel tickets for rail, bus and metro, which all run frequently.
There is a lack of restaurants in the area but I can recommend the Chinese around the corner.
The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful.
Do check before booking, that there are not any school children (teenagers) staying. There were dozens when we were there and we were kept awake into the early hours with them running wild, smoking, shouting and banging on doors, we eventually got to sleep well after midnight while they were there. The staff had a problem keeping control. It would have seemed sensible to put all the children and the teachers together and all the other guests on a different floor well away from them. There was a definate lack of supervision.
If we did not manage to eat breakfast before the teenagers, there was a huge lack of choice, they were like a hoard of locusts.
The window in the room did not fit properly and the windows and net curtains could have done with a good clean. The view was diabolical so it was preferable to keep the curtains closed. The room, though small was well furnished with a nice bathroom and kept clean.

The rooms were the largest we stayed in while we visited Italy which was nice and the breakfast in the morning was great as well. Only complaint is the lack of restaurants in the immediate area and the hotel is only accessible by bus when you go to and from the touristy sections of town. Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again :)
Cheap and cheerful

I thought this hotel was cheap and cheerful because we were sight seeing all day and at the end of the day I wanted a nice shower and comfortable bed, and this hotel fulfilled my requirements. if you are looking for something luxurious this is not for you but if you are on a budget and not looking to spend the whole day in your room then this ideal.

The room was very large with kingsize bed plus single bed, tv and minibar, nice sized clean bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer, bed linen and towels cleaned each day.
The breakfast was a very nice continental style, plenty of food choice and waiters kept replenishing the food throughout . The breakfast service was buffet style from 6.30am til 10.30am and the waiters were efficient in seating you and clearing away dirty plates.
One mistake was to walk from the termini to the hotel thinking it wouldn't take long, I advise you to take a taxi for this first journey as its very easy to get lost!
There is a metro station just 500 yards to the right of the hotel which for 1 euro will take you to the next stop (2 mins journey) just over the road from the spanish steps, from there everything is walking distance.
We never ate in the hotel restaurant of an evening, why would you want to when the best pizza and pasta is 2 minutes away in the centre of Rome?
Definately a good hotel overall, the cost of room included the breakfast and as this was just a last minute budget break i did not mind the metro ride in for the sake of cheaper room rates, the hotel is clean, and staff are helpful.
