It was our honey-moon, and we were lucky to find this wonderful hotel with home atmosthere, friendly staff.Hotel is perfectly situated, close to the Colloseum,p-za of Republica and other places of interest.Whats very important, its located on a very calm street.Furniture of 18-th century style in the room, always clean rooms, yummy breakfast as the pluses. On the whole,it helped us to feel the atmosthere of Rome..Cant help remembering those July days with a smile on my face:)

Fantastic hotel and staff

from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel is superb, I was lucky my girlfriend found it on the internet. The hotel was easy to find, and close to the station Termini. Its also a great location for walking to the main tourist sites.
All the staff were cheerful and helpful. The rooms were spotless. No bath in the room but it had a great jacuzzi shower. The tv was small and there was no kettle but who cares.. get out see the sights and drink lots of pinot grigio and eat lots of ice cream.
It was my birthday and I got a complimentary bottle of champagne from the lovely lady receptionist or owner.
Had the most wonderful holiday. When we come to Rome again, we will definately book this hotel again as it represents great value for money.

Nice for the price

from ANDYuk07
Hotel was in a good spot not far from the main station Termini and walking distance from most major sights.District was OK, never felt in any danger.Staff at the hotel were pleasant, some evening staff seem slightly detached.Breakfast was great,,Room was kept really clean, free safe, minibar, jacuzzi shower but the view was awfull.Looking around the hotel it did'nt look like many of the rooms had any view but ours was exceptionaly poor ,,4 feet to a solid grey wall,,not a big problem at this time of the year, but may be a bit off putting in summer. It was room 102 but hey i paid £57 a night from hotels(-) so I cant really complain too much.I would return to the hotel without hesitation if i were to visit Rome again, which is not very likely as apart from some wonderful sights the city has very little to offer, the begging, the harrasing street sellers, the traffic, packed transport, tramps, homeless, thiefs, rude people(including waiters)all of which i experienced during just four days.

Great Place for Sore Feet

from MFWilson59
The Raffaello was a great place to rest sore feet when tramping around Rome. Stylish for the price, great breakfast, reception staff member in the morning was friendly and helpful, the gentleman who was on in the evenings was very detached.

Room was immaculate and comfortable, and very quiet during the night.

The district is definitely not the best but we felt very safe even when wandering to the hotel from the station with our bags at 11p.m.

The buses to the city centre from Via Cavour are frequent if you feel like a break from walking. If you are walking go via the Via Cavour, dont take the back street from Via Urbana etc as its quite unpleasant. You can also get a bus from the train station direct to the Vatican.

The highlight of our trip was being able to eat lunch al fresco on both days with the restaurants having patio heaters to take the slight chill off the air.

mas time

Hotel Raffaello was a great surprise, and absolutely it is an hotel to recommend: between central station and coliseum, in a very lively but quiet district (romans call it "rione monti"). Very good price but above all very friendly helpful and professional staff

Wonderful!

from FFG
I really recommend this hotel. It's a short walk from the Termini station (5-10min). The buffet breakfast is great(srambeled eggs, different breads, cheese,meats,fruit...., staff are very helpful and rooms are nicely furnished. We had a room with a large terrace but unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to sit outside!
I would definately come back to this hotel - I was very impressed. I paid 110 euros a night for a double room and booked via the hotel website two days before departure.
There is a wonderful restaurant a 5 min walk away called Strega.
Enjoy!

Great Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
My son and I stayed there and it was wonderful. Great staff and good accommodations. Great breakfast each day. Close to train station and metro stops. I highly recommend this hotel. Its at least a four star except for the surrounding streets. But that is Rome/! They also have another hotel over near the Pantheolon.

Raffaello was great

from bondgirl007
My boyfriend and I booked our 7-night stay at the Raffaello after having read the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and the hotel lived up to all our expectations. It is extremely clean, rooms are quite big (we stayed in a nice double room with jacuzzi - perfect after a long day of sightseeing), staff is very friendly and helpful and breakfast is very good. As for location, we found it very convenient for walking around the city as well as for public transport. The area is quiet and safe with lots of small narrow streets and nice restaurants and cafés. We were actually glad to sometimes spend an afternoon or an evening in the area around the hotel when we had had enough of the insane traffic and millions of other tourist in the city centre. All in all, the Raffaello is very good value and we would love to stay there again.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was excellent. Extremely clean, uptodate and very well priced. Excellent central position and will definitely use again. Breakfast included for all guests when we asked and the food was fresh and in abundance. Staff were friendly and attentive at all times. We found this hotel via Trip Advisor and were really happy with our stay - can't fault it!

Stayed with my partner and in-laws at this hotel for 3 nights. Very impressed, staff were very friendly, breakfast was typical european-style buffet, lots of choice and tasty.

Stayed in recently decorated rooms with Jacuzzi shower (ouch)

Location was excellent, the area around Termini was fine, we did not have any problems, there are some lovely restaurants and pubs around the area too. the Metro was close by for the Vatican and St Peters, but all other sites were within walking distance.

Will be definately be coming back next year. The weather was glorious for October!

Wonderful Stay

from NrsMary
What a great value! Wonderful location, close to main streets, but in a quiet spot! An easy 10 minute walk from the Termini. The staff was one of the most gracious and helpful group of people I have encountered. The room was clean and comfortable. Very nicely decorated. Could not have asked for more. Will stay here again and again.

Top Local Tips for Rome

Taxi from Ciampino Although taxi fares have been capped at 30 euros that is for a maximum of three passengers without luggage. For four of us with hand luggage we were asked for 55 euros - we used the Terravision coach!

Dining Recommendation Make sure you try out the Restaurant Tema. Turn left out of the hotel and take the first right and it is on the left-hand side. Great food!

Raffaello, Rome Great place to stay
