This hotel is more like a 2 star, our room was small and had twin beds that were very hard, pillows were foam rubber..Breakfast very poor. This hotel does not serve dinner, has no pool and very unlike other 4 star hotels we have stayed in.

Arrived fairly early in the day but they allowed us to check in anyway. The teller was pretty cranky, maybe he was just having a bad day. The room wasn't what you would expect in a 4-star hotel, the double bed was about 140 cm wide and pretty short. Since I'm a pretty tall guy (185cm) my feet were hanging out over the edge all night. Apart from that it was also very hard, a real back-killer.
There was no safetydeposit box in the room despite the information sheet saying that most rooms are fitted with such, and if not there would be one available in the reception free of charge. Despite this they asked for €50 when we wanted to put our valuables in the safe downstairs.

The room itself was more or less a sauna, the airconditioning was probably switched off for the season. The ventilation fan broke down during the night as did the electronic keycard reader but they managed to have that fixed later during the day.
The information sheet was deceiving, stating the wrong hours for breakfast and incorrect fees for room equipment and prices.
It's not as close to Termini as you would think, it's a fairly long walk(30 minutes). There's a subway station just outside the hotel, which was unfortunately closed due to renovation work in progress.

In general a bit of a disappointment, I've slept at better 3 star-hotels and I wouldn't use it again, much because of their superior attitude
It wasn't bad enough to ruin our holiday though, but far from great.

Top Local Tips for Rome

Do not queue for Vatican Museum!! I have just returned from Rome this week, we went to the Vatican Museum on Monday at 9.30am and we queue for 4 hours to get in. We had already paid for an english speaking tour guide up front, so felt we had to continue queueing. Believe me, it was torture, I don't recommend it to anyone. The trouble is, you can't see where the queue ends, so as you go round each corner, you are disappointed to see that the queue goes on an on. It was right back to St. Peters square the day we went, so be advised not to join it if it is as long as this.

Cost effectiveness I would definetly recommend reading menus and price lists before going into restaurants / bars. We mainly ate next to the coleseum and it was really good value for money. However other places we looked at we asking 8 euros a pint, so I would advise drinking wine where possible.

Getting around the attractions Dont worry about travelling in Rome. The metro has a station near all the major attractions. Works just fine but is shut after 9 pm. So, look for a taxi or something else at night. The streets tend to rather dark and scary, late in the night but crime is low. But take care of your wallet at the Metro stations. Can be very crowded, at times.
