Hotel Has Thieves

My family stayed at this hotel in October. We had three rooms. A thief came into my room while I was asleep and stole my daughter's bag that contained money, gifts, passport and many other things. They also stole some of my clothes. Unfortunately I did not hear a word. The hotel said this happens and would not call the police until I got angry. We filed a police report and filed a claim with the hotel's liability carrier. They assured us at our departure that the claim would be processed and my daughter would receive reimbursement within 8 weeks. The 8 weeks came and went. I have sent several letters, emails and faxes to no avail. These people are rude and don't tell the truth. I will never stay there again and will advise all to stay away from that particular hotel.
Thumbs up!!

The place is modern, clean and a decent place to rest your head at night. Breakfast yes is a selection of rolls, sweet croissants etc. but that's what they eat for breakfast in Italy! I read other reviews saying the staff are rude- I didn't find that at all, they were friendly- they can be a bit abrupt when talking to you but its there translation of English ( I've come to realise us English are way too polite!) I don't suggest sleeping in the day as the hotel is in quiet a noisy location but you must be mad to want to sleep in and miss all the fantastic sights. the hotel is a bit out of the centre of Rome but not far from the coliseum, so taxis are a must have which the hotel will call for you! The hotel also have free maps of all the well-known sights. If I went to Rome again I would choose this hotel again, I was shocked how nice it was since I'd read awful reviews!

Good points:
friendly staff.
clean.
attractive decor...
Bad points:
location, too far from tourist areas, seedy, noisy.
Breakfast, bland, only processed ham and cheese roll 2 sort of "danish".
small room, miniscule shower cubicle.
Choice of 4 dinner menus these did not change during our 5 night stay.
one night actually discouraged by reception desk not to have dinner in hotel BUT only one reasonable restaurant in area....
Definitely WILL NOT stay there again

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The reception area and bar are quite nice but the rest of it is awful. Breakfast was utterly uninviting (stale bread, dry meat and cheese). The room was basic, dirty, paint flaking off the walls, window sill had half-fallen off and we only had one curtain. The location is constantly noisy, dirty and not a place you would want to walk around at night. Local restaurants are, well, non-existent apart from one rather iffy place a few doors away. The staff were pretty nice though. I am just thankful we were only there for 2 nights.
Not great. Expensive for what was offered

Recommended by airline for our first stay in Rome. It was expensive, third rate, and rooms clean but basic. Breakfast facility area was grotty. Bar prices very high. Staff generally indifferent and unfriendly. Location was a bit dodgy for late night. Would not stay here again

This hotel was fab! We went on a girls city break having never been to rome before. The hotel was such good value for money, we were not expecting anything like the standard we got. Lovely decorated, large with tv lounge, bar, shop, good continental breakfast. VERY friendly and helpful staff (who were very understanding about our loud girly giggles/squeals which our neighbours complained about) and recommended a FABULOUS restaurant called La Carbonara in Campo di Fiori (young/studenty bar area) where the waiters were a great laugh and ended up giving us a bottle of bubbly for free. It is only 5/10 mins walk from Metro line 1 (one euro), 15 mins walk to the collesseum and termi station, next door to a great pizza place and internet cafe. The restaurant around the corner is also recommended. You will not get anything else this standard for this price - of course it could be a little closer but its only 8 euros by taxi to the centre. Def recommended!

The public areas of the hotel were always kept very clean and tidy, the bar and tv lounges very comfortable.
The room that I stayed in,(and no complaints from the rest of the party) I found to be clean but very basic and the only thing I found that as the room was at the front of the hotel the traffic noise from the piazza below was more or less 24hrs but as we were only using the room for showering and getting our head down at night this was not really a problem especially when the window shutters were closed due to the chilly March nights.
As far as the staff were concerned we all found them friendly and always willing to help.
The location of this hotel was good as it was only a 10 minute walk from the metro and for 1 euro you could get from one side of the city to the other with ease, and only about a 20 minutes stroll to the colloseum.
There was a couple of restaurants nearby which for the most only served traditional Italian food but at resonable prices (main course and a large beer or local wine about 12-15 euro.)
All in all, this hotel was ok and I would probably recommend for a similar type of group.
