Top Local Tips for Rome
Transfers We arrived in Leonardo Da Vinci airport and got the train and Metro into the city. The hotel do however provide a taxi service at a set rate of €40 which we got on our return journey and felt it was well worthwhile as this journey only took 45 minutes without waiting for trains.
Hanging around the station! Book your taxi from the Terminii to the hotel in advance to save time. We weren't aware how cheap & reliable the taxi's were so made our way from the airport by train which was quick enoughthen spent half an hour waiting at the termnii to get a recognsed taxi whilst being propositioned by touts trying to get us in their un regulated taxi. it only cost E40 to Leonardo airport coming back & thats not booking it.
Prepare to walk! Comfortable shoes, maybe two pair, and be ready to hoof it!
