Location was right next to the Termini which was convenient although if I return to Rome, I would choose to stay further away from the Termini as there are a lot of touts there particularly in the evening. Hotel was very well kept, all rooms recently refurbished and continental buffet breakfast was fresh and had a good selection of foods. All in all, a nice place to stay for a few nights. Quiet atmosphere despite being so near the Termini which was good to return to after a days sightseeing!

Lovely

from A TripAdvisor Member
Palladium Palace is a magnificent place. We were told that the hotel was having renovations done but we saw no evidence of this. Our room was comfortable and sparkling. We were on the third floor that looked out over the city streets. For some it could have been loud but we loved being so close to the action. We had a large family suite and the interior room was quiet and blocked out the noise effortlessly. We did not hear other guests like so often with hotels. This hotel was not the standard micro mini size notorious in Europe. It was rather roomy for Rome.

Our room was a soft painted yellow with cherry style furniture. High ceilings with frescos painted above. The floors were tiled with oriental area rugs for our feet. The headboard stuck out a bit too far and one of us bumped our head. There was a mini bar, TV, closet space, pc hook up, vcr, DVD…. The bathroom in this room was custom designed by Versace ceramics with super absorbent towels. Toilet, Bidet and deep tub. The entire bathroom was a soft blue tile with a large window to the city. Plenty of amenities such as cosmetic eye contact mirror.

Rome is a very active city and never seems to sleep but we were able to rest easily here. This area of Rome is super safe and we did not witness any pickpocket or crime of any sort. There are three great places to eat on this street and one excellent ice cream shop across from the hotel. A place to change money, buy stamps or pick up take out. Breakfast was plentiful and the dinning area was extensive. This hotel was walking distance from the train station. I would recommend taking the train from the airport to this hotel. Maps or directions are available. It is on the same street as the train. Super close!

Our flight leaving was not until the evening but the hotel let us keep our luggage in their security room. It worked out great and there was no charge. The staff speak English and were helpful on various arrangements. The National Theater is walking distance along with the Spanish steps. The hotel provided maps, entertainment guides and directions. An elegant place. We look forward to returning next year. June is an brilliant time to travel. Not too hot and not too cold. Enjoy!

Just fabulous

What a find!! Minutes from Termini station, this friendly well priced hotel was a great way to end our European holiday. Our room was elegant, comfortable, clean, quiet, spa bath and with views of Rome streets and rooftops.Excellent staff and good breakfast. They even organised a Mercedes to the airport. It could not have been better.
Highly recommended!!Ask for the 5th floor - we had 3 balconies from our room. Loved it.

Great place...

Great place. Nice location -- within walking distance (3-5 mins) from the train station. Very clean. Nice rooms. Good continental b'fast. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Easy to find!

I can't imagine an easier-to-find hotel. It's a quick and easy walk from Roma Termini train station. We got a deluxe room for 200 Euro. The bathroom was huge, we had a foyer with a couch, and the bedroom was comparable to most American hotels in size. Although it's very close to the train station, it's a good walk to the Spanish Steps and a bus ride to the Vatican (only 1 Euro). The staff was polite and responsive to any question we asked, but don't expect to be pampered.

Best hotel ever at a resonable price

Hotel was very easy to find. Very clean, cozy, and exceptionally great staff. I never got lost and that was a plus for me, because the hotel is near the major termini train station.

Great deal

This was a great hotel compared to many I stayed in. Two people stayed in the room for 100 Euro. The room was air conditioned, had a t.v. and a free breakfast. It's a short walk to the train station. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel

Stayed here for 4 nites (May 5- 9). It is literally 2 blocks in from Termini station. We took a train from Venice and got off and it was so easy to find! The hotel is really very nice and the staff was wonderful to us. They helped us book Green Line Tours and we paid for them at check out. Green Line is around the corner and down the block from the hotel. We had room 112 and they made up the king size bed into 2 twins for my sister and I. The room was small but well appointed. Parents: Watch out for the free porn while kids flip stations. We found this in all the hotels we stayed at in France & Italy. I don't get why they don't block those and show them on a pay service only. We had a deluxe room with new jacuzzi shower. I had to laugh at that thing. First, we couldn't figure out how to turn it on (there's a switch on the wall that we thought was a light - it emitted a momentary high pitched whistle when activated). Then once on, we had trouble figuring out how to get the jets to spray. Once they did, the caps popped off when the water sprayed out. LOL But it felt nice after walking for 9 hours. Breakfast downstairs (level -1) was good (hard boiled eggs, pasteries, yogurt, breads, cakes, tarts, meat. cheese, all kinds of coffee/tea/juices.) Very good hotel overall. The only thing off putting is the neighborhood it's in. But the flip side of that is the conveniece of having Termini so close.

right by thr staton for getting around although most of the sites we could walk to...

...not the vatican thoe, but the train is at the top of the road and cost about a ppound to use all day. the hotel was clean and the reception staff brilliant. the rroms at the front of the hotel are very very noisey with trams and buses going day and night, ask for a room at the back we had to be moved there after asleepless first night. the rooms where all nice and clean and well furnished. even we asked to be moved this was no problem to the staff infact they moved our bags when we were out.breakfast was a bit of a free for all but plenty to choose from and as much as you wanted. the managment were brilliant when we had to leave when our children were in a car crash and could not have done more for us. all in all a great hotel and great staff. ps, if you are use to traffic the front rooms will not bother you so dont be put off. This is a great hotel situated with in walking dis of most things but not the vatican, but the train is at the top of the road and it cost next to nothing to use this all day. The rooms at the front of the hotel are very noisey if you are not use to traffic going all night, we had to be moved to a roomat the back but this was not a problem as the staff did this when we were out. lovely rooms well furnished and fantastic welcoming front desk staff. we had our stay cut short due to a car crash in uk so had to leave urgently, the managment could not do enough to help us. thanks to you all for this. I would recomend this hotel and wonder why its not a 4 star, but i supose we know its to do with the traffic noise, this i prommis cant be heared at the back but the view is poo at the back but hey what do you want in a big city, we are to worn out to look at the veiw.

Just 2 blocks from the Train station !!

Well, after a smooth 30 min train ride, we walked out the front door, and you can see the hotel from the Termini station. Upon check in, the concierge overheard my fiancee say she wanted a coke, and before you knew it, "Bruno" was there with glass and all ! We got an escort to the room, which was very immaculate and European. The room was very rich looking. We got the 5th floor, which is the only one with balconies. We had a nice view. Was romantic to sleep with the window open, and hear the sounds of the city below. Complete breakfast included too. Green Line Tours just around the corner for great tour. Cozy little resturaunts a few doors down. Would stay again for sure..!!

Absolutely fabulous.

Absolutely fabulous place. I have no idea why Expedia gave the place only 3 stars. I read the reviews here saying that the rooms were on the small side. I think we may have been upgraded but our room was gigantic. In fact, after opening the door, we had to go own our own hallway to get to the room. The bathroom was off the hallway and there was a walk-in closet and our own outside window (provided there was no views, just other windows). We loved the murals painted on the walls and ceilings. We even had a jacuzzi shower. Great way to work off all those cramped muscles from walking around Rome. As for the person that complained about how far it is from everything, take the metro! The hotel is literally a block from the train station. Take the Leonardo Express straight from the airport into Rome and stepout from the train station and your hotel is right down the road. How much more convenience can a person ask for? Everyone I met in Rome toured by train except for us. We took the taxi (because my husband is spoiled and lazy) but even that price wasn't bad (not accounting for the exchange rate anomoly). If you're lazy and spoiled, the taxi is about 5-10?. And, the famous gelato place by the Trevi Fountain, San Crispino (the one that was on TV and the NY Times) is less than 5? from the hotel or about 15 minutes if you walk it. Even all the amazing restaurants in Trastevere were less than 10?. And to top that off, the tour company and tour stops were right around the block and there is a motorbike rental there too. It's the most convenient location ever. The staff there is amazingly friendly and helpful. When I mention to the concierge that we rented a motorbike, he warned us that there were lots of one way streets in Rome and proceeded to trace out a motorbike touring route on a map. And they recommended absolutely the best restaurants. The expensive Michelin-rated restaurant were no where as good as the ones they recommended. My husband absolutely love their recommendations and he is the pickiest eater alive. What it comes down to is, plan your trip. Research the tours, transportation and restaurants. You'll have a good time in Rome but if you do your research you'll have an extraordinarily amazing time.
