Me and my girlfriend both aged 20 stayed at the Marc Aurelio earlier this year. We read reviews for the hotel before we went, all of which weren't too good and slightly put us off. When we actually arrived at the hotel, it was quite pleasant and well kept, and also looked much nicer than any other hotel in the area. The rooms are clean and have everything you expect, apart from a kettle. I don't know what the cleaners are like we were only there for 3 nights and didn't see the point in having it cleaned. All the staff spoke good English and were all very helpful. The hotel seems to be in one of Rome's suburb, which is fine as long as you're willing to use the metro (which is extremely reliable and very cheap)...and only 5 mins away from the hotel. There's only a couple of restaurants in walking distance of the hotel but all of them are very nice. Overall, we had a great holiday for what we paid, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants a chilled out holiday and is not willing to travel to discover what Rome's all about.
