Wonderful place to stay!

Hotel Major Aventinus was a great place to stay. I lived there for over 3 months with a college program and not only is the location fabulous (5 minute walk to metro/taxi stand/several bus stops), but also 5 minute walk to the cicus maximus and 10 minutes from the colosseum. The hotel owners are very sweet and welcoming, as well. The neighborhood it is located in, Testaccio, has great restaurants and sites all within walking distance.

This hotel is in a fine residential neighborhood with close access to public transportation, bars and restaurants and within walking distance to major historical attractions. The staff are friendly and helpful -- particularly if your Italian fluency is not so great. Some rooms have private baths. Highly recommended for overall value.

Single rooms for 35 euros a night in a beautiful villa on the avetino hill. 5 minute walk from 2 different metro stops and a 5 minute walk from the coloseum. THe roman rose garden is also no mroe than 5 minutes away. A nice place. stayed for 6 weeks in a college program, couldn't ask for more.
