Top Local Tips for Rome
plan ahead Try and do your research before you arrive regarding restaurants. There are so many and like any big city it is nice to have a plan so you don't miss out on one you would like. Also the hotel can make reservations for you ahead of time which you need in a lot of the finer dining spots.
Don't bother.... Public transport is poor or non-exsistent - hiring a car is not recommended as you need to have Roman driving experience to negotiate the busy traffic.Taxis are efficient and cheap.
How to go ? You should use taxis or buses (not recommended) from one point to another if you can it is not too expensive. Don·t walk from block to other it is a huge city... You should walk about 1h30 in each block at least (4-6 hours in Vaticano)... Watch out your back with all those antic pavement. have a nice trip.
