We went to Rome for my birthday, we booked a flight and were looking for a resonable priced hotel not too far from the center. not something too classy but not one of those places where you have to pay for the airconditioning...
we found Hotel Lirico on the net after searching tens of others. the price was right and the pictures looked good. we were so happy to discover that:
1. Even though check-in is at 14:00, our room was ready at 11:00 when we got to the hotel and we were let in (without advanced notice).
2. The staff was friendly, cheerful and helpful, especially Tony who suggested a wonderful restaurant for my birthday, made the reservations and followed up on our experience !
3. Breakfast was beyond our expectation - cheese and cold cuts, cereal, croissant (3 kinds), jams, honey, Nuttela, a veriety of coffee and hot drinks to choose from, soft drinks and most of all - fresh fruit (which is not common in rome as we heard). All buffet and plenty.
4. The room was spacious......
