Top Local Tips for Rome

Excellent Bus Service Use public buses for getting around. They are a lot cheaper than the tourist buses.Went on a night tour woth green bus company. It took hours, not very good.

time to go Go in January - far less people. Only waited 10 mins to get into Vatican museums as opposed to nearly 2 hours in April or October

arriving and departing This hotel is great for arriving either on the train or "Terravision"bus.Instead of other passengers on the bus having to get a taxi for to reach their final destination,we had a very short walk.Coming back to the bus was great too,this was because we left our cases in the hotel and then collected them minutes before getting the bus to the airport.very convenient. If you like to use sight seeing tour buses like the "hop on,hop off" get there early to the "Termini",definately before 10am.we left it until after 10am and found huge long queues which we had to wit an hour in!
