The Giuliana is excellently located, within walking distance of many of the well-known sights. Only 5 mins. from Termini station. The family that run it and their staff are all very friendly and helpful and English speaking. Excellent recommendations were given for restaurants,sight-seeing etc. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again next time !

The Hotel Guiliana is about 8 mins walk from the main station in Rome. The hotel is small, clean and comfortable and the decor is pleasing to the eye. The staff and owner (Jean) are always helpful and assist in planning ( if you require help) your visits to the main tourist attractions in Rome. The rooms are a good size and are cleaned on a daily basis to a high standard. The location of the hotel is also excellent in proximity to the local buses and trains.
We had a great time.

Sucessful holiday
from A TripAdvisor Member
From 27.9 -01.10 - 2004 my wife and I had a wonderful holiday in Rome. Of course: Phanteon, Colosseum, Piazza Navona and Roman Forum, in all weather and seasons, are fantastic. But I'm sure that the stay at Hotel Giuliana (---------------------------) is the main reason for the sucsessful holiday. The service, the personal and close atmosphere are among the little hotels greatest qualities. But also that the staff are perfect in english and that they know the city like their own pocket.
Please, try Hotel Giuliana.

Roman Holiday

Ideally situated close to Terminii. Warm welcome from Jean who gave some very useful tips about getting around to see all the wonderful sights Rome has to offer. Room spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all amenities. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent.
Jean was absolutely delightful and went out of her way to help us - booking tours and meals in restaurants nearby(the Abruzzi, three minutes walk from the hotel provided great food and we would particularly recommend it).
Rome is an incredible city and we will certainly revisit and stay at the Giuliana.

Very charming hotel

A very reasonably priced hotel, and offering an excellent location; well suited to walking tours of the city. The staff were relentlessly helpful, and spoke English with a rare flair. Noise was no issue most of the time, except for the general buzz of a vibrant city, which is obviously expected. My travelling companion very much enjoyed the provided breakfast. The rooms were very clean and comparatively spacious. I should readily recommend it to friends and family.
Close to the heart of the city

Have just arrived home after spending 4 nights in this lovely hotel in the centre of Rome. It was within easy walking distance of sites such as the Trevi fountain and the Collosseum and close to the Metro station at Barberini. The staff were very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. Cosidering that it was so close to the busy centre of Rome we did not find it noisy. Would be quite happy to recommend it to fellow travellers visiting the city.
A Good Budget Hotel

We stayed at the Guiliana for two nights in September. I agree that the staff is wonderful. They provide great recommendations for local restaurants (frequented by Romans not tourists). The room and bed were comfortable but the towels are hard and stiff. This is not a hotel to stay at if you want luxury. However, the room rates reflect this. We paid 140 euros per night and during the high season in Rome it is not a bad price to pay.
On a noisy street

In September we stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Giuliana in Rome because of reviews in trip advisor saying it is in a good location near the train station and has a friendly English speaking staff. This is true. Jean was helpful in giving us a map and highlighting special sights and routes. However at 145 euros a night ($180) our room and amenities were inferior to other hotels we stayed in Italy for the same price. The bathroom towels were old and stiff. The breakfast croissants were pre-packaged in plastic and stale instead of fresh pastries served elsewhere. (Although there were other breakfast choices.) But the main problem was the relentless noise from the busy street. After a sleepless night we tried to check out and move to another hotel, but we were told that since we reserved 2 nights we would be charged for two even if we only stayed one night.

What a great find in Rome. Our hostess was delightful, and the room was wonderful and inviting, after a 5 hour delay from ny. The area was close to all major attraction!s, and the staff was very helpful in making recommendations and directions for us at any time. Thanks so much for a great stay in rome

We stayed in Hotel Giuliana for 6 nights. They have a good location in Central Rome and it is easy and quickly to go to public transportation. The room has a good size, is clean and you can find everything that you want there. Very friendly staff. They helped us with good advises and good indications of places to go.
Fantastic Hotel, Location...

Just returned from my third visit to Hotel Giuliana and the hotel is even better than I remembered. Jean, Luigi and all of the staff are so friendly and helpful, it is a real home from home. Location is excellent, facilities superb and I thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of Rome to try Giuliana first ( and hope they have a room available for you) you will not be disappointed!
Brilliant!!!!

Top Local Tips for Rome
Easy on the metro and cheap Use it to get to all the main historical sites. It saves your feet to do the actually walking around them
Weather We went the end of May and didn't have one rainy day. Just sunny days with nice temperatures.
Airport to Rome transportation The Leonardo Express takes you from the Leonardo D'Vinci airport to Rome Termini train station in about half an hour with no stops. It is very convenient and cheaper by far than a taxi.
