After few days of looking for a nice place where to stay in Rome we booked the Galatea Hotel on bookhotelsinrome.com for 3 days. A lovely breakfast was served in a nice room, and it was richer than usual continental breakfasts in Rome. The Air conditioning is excellent. The room was quiet, clean, the beds are OK. The hotel is placed in the center of Rome, near Via Nazionale, about 15 minutes to Coliseum, 5 minutes to Republica and 5 minutes from train station Termini. We'll certainly visit Rome again, and on our next trip, we will definitely book Galatea Hotel again.

Galatea is an affordable, comfortable and centrally located hotel base for exploring Rome. The rooms are "compact", but clean and very comfortable and with en-suite facilities. The interior is contemporary and stylish inside a 200 year old building, on the third floor. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak English. Breakfast is simple, basic, "continental" fare in a long, narrow dining room. The one thing lacking is a lounge area where one might sit and share a glass of wine with friends after a long day of sight-seeing. Don't be put off by this - you can use the dining area. There is a balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. The approach from via Genova is through large green wooden double doors on the street, where there is a convenient cafe/bar during the day and brilliant pizzeria ("Est, est est") just up the road, evenings. Termini station is nearby (we walked), together with Piazza della Republica, Trevi, Quirinale, Foro Romano, Colosseum and many more,...... Read more

It's a great hotel. Rooms were larger than expected - most hotels I've stayed at in Europe have been very small. A quiet and very clean hotel. Very helpful staff, most of them spoke English. 5-10 minutes walk from termini station and the historical sites. Breakfast was ok, but not alot to choose from. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I arrived in Rome and went to the hotel I had booked. That hotel told me upon my arrival there was a flood on the floor where I was to stay and they would have to sent me to another hotel for one night and they would pay for the taxi. I was tired from my trip and agreed. I then experienced my first Rome taxi ride. WOW! I was greeted on the street upon my arrival at my new destination and was taken through a small courtyard to an entrance with an elevator up to the third floor. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. This third floor property had very recently be renovated and everything was fresh, new and extremely clean. Once I got settled I went to the front desk and asked them to phone my original hotel and arrange for me to stay here for the next five nights. That's the best endorcement one can give.

My wife & I stayed there a weekend and it was great. Quiet hotel inside an apartment building with very clean rooms and warm hospitality.
