Our room was located down two very long corridors, towards the back of the complex. The corridor our room was in was dark, not only in decor but no lights in the ceiling-the wiring was there, but no fixtures; no sprinkler system and as people are allowed to smoke in their rooms, a huge problem if a fire breaks out; thread-bare curtains; even when the shower curtain was inside the bath, the bottom of the bath leaked, hence the musty, damp smell; towels were like kitchen tea towels; the air conditioning only came on between 3.00pm to 6.30 am; the weather was still warm and hot but they drained the pool as it was 'end of the season'; some front-line staff were rude, and as for the two assistants in the shop within the hotel, totally rude.
The hotel is located a half hour from central Rome with not much in the way of shops or eating places near it. Catching a bus or the Metro to central Rome, though, is very simple and not too expensive.
We had a different room for the one night after our tour - it was a little better.
Basically, if you are not having to stay here due to being on a tour, DON'T.
We stayed in a 3-star hotel 2-minutes walk from the Termini Station in Rome and this was far superior!

Top Local Tips for Rome
public transport public transport is very convinient to reach all main attractions. use the train from fuimicino apt to reach termini station (price in one direction is 11 eur). use luggage deposit at tremini station: I left my luggage there form 8.30 till 14.30 and paid 4 euros.
Pickpockets We were warned that pickpockets were common in Rome, and it is true. One of my travelling companions went to an ATM and took out 300 euros. She was with two other girls. After she took out the money, she entered the underground. As she entered the train, a young man slammed into her, then two more were on each side of her. She did notice her purse (which was zipped and in front of her) moved. As she and her friends sat down, she saw her wallet on the ground. She picked it up and looked inside and all the cash was gone. The three young men that had slammed into her were sitting together at the other end of the train. Even though she knew they took the cash, she didn't want to cause a scene and exited the train at the next stop. So please watch out when you get money from ATMs!!!

The staff seemed great and professional, however the CONDITIONS were awful.
My bathroom had cigarette ash behind the door, in the corner... the showers were never as clean as I'd had hoped...the shower heads were all crusty. The rooms smelled stale...
EVERY NIGHT the live music outside kept me awake until at least midnight. The music was fine, but not if you're wanting to sleep.
