We were absolutely delighted with the Delle Vittorie. The room was spacious and sparkling clean, the staff couldn't be more helpful and the hotel was genuinely much better than a lot of 4 star hotels we have stayed in. A lovely Restaurant is around the corner with great food at a fair price.

Top Local Tips for Rome

Use the metro! Use the metro to get back to your hotel - Its something we've decided we will do when we go back.If you have a late flight into Rome be aware that you might need to get a cab from Termini - Line A doesn't run in the evening but if thats the only cab you get its not the end of the world!

roma pass on arrival get a roma pass they cost 20 euros per person but you get unlimited travel on the metro and bus for 3 days and free entry in to two attractions with reductions on all subsequent ones. as we had a roma pass we didn't have to queue at the collosseum !

Check the price of drinks in restaurants before you sit down. We didn't bother to check the prices of food or drink before we went to a restaurant (you wouldn't do when your on holiday) but we noticed that a lot of restaurants made up the price of the food by charging loads for the drinks i.e. a diet coke was €5.50 in one restaurant whic his about £4!! A few times we didn't order drinks with our meal as it just worked out too expensive.
