I chose this hotel from this site and I was very satisfied.
Rooms are small but very clean, very good breakfast and a kind and helpful staff.

Nice little Hotel

We looked for a hotel close to Ciampino Airport as we had a late night flight and found this one on the web. The hotel is 5km from the airport

The price for a double was £42 which was very reasonable. The hotel is relatively new and the room was big and well appointed with good furnishings and wooden floors.

The only disappointment was the bed which was too hard for us.

The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was simple but of good quality.

I would use the hotel again.

The only problem we did have was that none of the taxi drivers at the airport wanted to take us on such a short trip and only one would take the job and only if we paid 35 euro up front. (To add insult to injury he tried to pocket the change from two 20 euro notes). I would ask the hotel to arrange the taxi in future.

In the morning we got a bus from outside the hotel to the metro at Anagnina and then line A into the city. Less than an hour and 2 euro and we were in central Rome.

Dei Consoli Hotel-Rome,Italy:"superb stay".We stayed at the wonderful Dei Consoli for 4 nights from February 1st.It was well furnished,very comfortable and so very friendly.Breakfast was excellent,lots of gorgeous cappacino and the best scrambled eggs we,ve tasted at a city hotel!!We both decided that our next visit to rome will include a stay here!

Special small hotel

We loved this intimate hotel in superb location near the Vatican. Recently renovated, everything is pristine and rooms are well appointed, though small. Excellent breakfast and personal service from the barista who made cafe and cappuccinos to everyones's specific taste. Not for someone who likes grand lobbies and public spaces.

Our Second Visit

I was so impressed with this hotel and staff when I visited Rome in October 2003, that I stayed here again upon my second visit to Rome this past summer with my son and a friend. They loved the hotel, the personalized service by the friendly staff, the generous breakfast and wonderful location on a tree-lined street. This hotel is conveniently located to the Vatican and to the other main areas. We walked everywhere and hardly ever used the transit system, but when we did, we found the buses to be a very efficient mode of transportation. They even arranged for car service to pick us up and drop us off at the airport upon our departure. I wouldn't think of staying at any other hotel whenever I am visiting Rome. What makes this hotel special is that it is charming and unpretentious but beautiful and elegant, and has the type of ambiance that a visitor to Rome would definitely appreciate.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel dei Consoli over Thanksgiving of 2003. The hotel has a terrific location in an interesting neighborhood about four blocks from the Vatican. There is adequate subway access about five or six blocks away.

The hotel is fairly small and sumptuous. The rooms, while a bit on the small size, are extremely well appointed with very expensive materials. The staff is wonderful. There are even borderline masterpiece paintings on some of the walls!

The breakfast is extraordinary, perhaps the best I've ever had in Europe.

This hotel is a gem by any standards, and I very highly recommend it.

P.S. Not far from the hotel is Il Matriciano Ristoranti (Via dei Gracchi, 49-61; telephone 39-063213040). I had one of my very best meals there in 2003, and made sure to go back when I visited Rome again in Nov. 2004. They have a good no-smoking section and the menu is in both Italian and English. The staff is excellent and the food is absolutely superb.

P.P.S. Don't forget to visit St. Peter's and the Vatican!

I thoroughtly enjoyed my 4 nights at this hotel, November 2-6, 2004. The staff (front desk, porter, and breakfast staff) were extremely courteous and helpful. The room was soundproof, non smoking and a good size. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise and definitely more than just a continential breakfast. Convenient location to the Vatican and the Metro. I would definitely stay there again!

We needed a hotel near the Ciampino airport near Rome because we had an early flight out of the Ciampino airport. This was a good location. It even had a pretty garden in the back. The staff was helpful in confirming our plane reservations. We had a lovely dinner in the dining room. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Great Stay at Dei Consoli

Just returned from 6 days in Rome at the Dei Consoli. Your previous reviewers were spot on! Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was smallish but very nicely furnished and AIR Conditioned. Breakfast was as good or better than many top of the line Hotels. John Carlo's cappucino was addictive! Location was perfect for the Vatican, transportation ( bus,trolley, and Metro ) and not too far fron the best Gellato in Rome. This was our first trip to Rome and we feel we really lucked out with the Dei Consoli
