This is a fantastic little hotel in a superb location - 2 Mins walk from the Metro at Barbirini (2 stops from the termini), 2 mins stroll to the Trevi Fountain and numerous great restaurants (3 nights, 3 restaurants, 3 great meals) and within easy walking distance of the Spanish steps, Forum and Colosseum - don't be put off by your first site of the street it's on, its very quiet and perfectly safe. The hotel is clean, very well presented and has lovely rooms (especially the ones overlooking the internal courtyard). Breakfast is a good continental style, staff helpful and friendly. The lift is something to be experieced! Highly recommended.
Great deal for us!

This is a gem of a hotel tucked on Via Rasella which is a great place to base a walking tour of Roma. Only about a 25 minute walk from Termini Train station and a great, great place... The hotel is fine, rooms clean, Ok bathrooms, etc. The little restaurant straight across the street that looks like a windowed 50's diner is excellent and I can't wait to visit it again. The Trevi Fountain is nearby and there is a great little English pub just around the corner from the hotel. Just walk down the hill and take a right... you can't miss it. Also, the pizza at Luna Caprese on the way to the pub is great and the older woman behind the counter is the greatest. Buy her flowers if you want to get a true Italian kiss! We booked thru a travel agent as a package deal and got a great deal. Roundtrip Flight from JFK in New York and 4 nights in this hotel for $550.00 total.

Top Local Tips for Rome

Best way to get around........... Use the Terravision Transfer service from airport to Terminus - fine, but then to get to your location a taxi can be expensive (around £35). Perhaps use one on the way in, get a quote before getting in the car, but to come home when you are more familiar, the best service from all over Rome to the Termini is excellent. Tickets are 1 euro a trip, available from Tobacconists - just insert them in the machine on the bus as you get on.You will see more of Rome by walking - maps are excellent - but ifyou have elderly companions, use the Open Top Tour bus for one day (buy the ticket at the stop its cheaper...) Public Bus to the Vatican City is cheap and easy. Most other sights can be accessed on foot - depending on your fitness and time available.

Service Charges Be careful when dining, we got ripped off by our waiter at one establishment by adding on an inflated service charge for mediocre service. We then ate at restaurants that did not add it automatically and were able to reward accordingly

Buses From Termini get a 1 euro bus ticket and jump on the 175 bus to get to the hotel rather that a txi which would cost 25 euro. The 175 stops in the bus stand outside Termini.
