Great Hotel
from Sally1999
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Cesari for 10 days and had a great stay. The staff are extremely helpful. The breakfast each morning consist of ham, cheese, cereal, juice, coffee, pastries and fruit (included in your stay). The location is wonderful. You can walk everywhere. It is only a 2 minute walk to the Pantheon and a 20 minute walk to the Vatican. There is a bus stop two blocks away. There are plenty of eating places all around the hotel. The hotel will schedule a driver to pick you up at the airport. Our plane was one hour late and the driver was still there. We were charged 62 euros. He was English speaking. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was spotless.
Wonderful hotel

This was a terrific hotel which I found using this website. We just got back-- my husband, myself, and our two kids, ages 13 and 16. We booked two rooms across the hall from each other and it worked out great. The rooms were a little small (though we heard from friends living in Rome that they were large compared to average!) and it was a little noisy some mornings (bring earplugs, no big deal)-- but having said that, the location was unbelievably great, the staff was very nice, the accomodations were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was perfect. I'd go back anytime.

The Cesari is amazingly well situated only a few steps from the Trevi Fountain (less than 2 minutes walk) and about 5 minutes from Piazza Narvona and the Pantheon. We couldn't have stayed anywhere better on our first visit to Rome. We walked to all the sights and the furthest away was the Vatican (still only 30 minutes walk away).
The hotel staff were really helpful and our room (Number 11 on the first floor) was really spacious with a nice bathroom with a bath with a shower over it.
If you want to stay right in the centre of historic Rome then you can't go far wrong with this place - it is only a 3 * but our experience was far above that rating. Did look a little run down from outside but inside it was very nice.

Charming Cesari!!

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Rome at the Cesari. It is situated up a side street with 3 or 4 lovely little cafe/restaurants within 50 yards. The hotel looks very quaint from the outside, 3 stories with traditional shutters. The reception staff were always polite and helpful, and could speak excellent English. We had a room on the first floor, overlooking the street. Yes, there was traffic and pedestrian noise, but it was great to be able to open the shutters and look down on to the action below. The double room was a good size, with a very clean, modern bathroom, and plenty of towels. The room was a little dark owing to the closeness of the building opposite, but very comfortable. Breakfast was continental, in a small room which could be crowded if everyone appeared at the same time. There was plenty to choose from, cakes, breads, cheeses, meats, jams, pastries, biscuits and teas, coffee and cold drinks. A great start to the sight seeing, much of which was within minutes of the hotel. The only negative, was the very strange smell in the lift, which had been disguised with air freshner - we used the stairs!! I would recommend this hotel, and would defintately use it again when visiting Rome.
Excellent location, excellent value for money

We are Americans living in London and used this system to find this hotel. We could not have been more pleased. For the money, we had a very comfortable room for my husband my six year old and me. It was very quiet. The bathroom was up to date and clean. The bed was comfortable. The man on the front desk DURING THE DAY was helpful and happy. If you are looking for clean, comfortable accomodations and an excellent location then this is the place. If you are a snobby American who needs a large room and a grand bathroom then look elsewhere. We would, without question, use the hotel again and recommend it to our friends.
Great location

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Cesari late August of 2002. The hotel's location was hard to beat, in the center of all the surrounding sites in Rome. The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Tirivi Fountain, and shopping were all within a short walk. The hotel itself was okay but could have been kept up better. I had a room up on, I think, the 3rd or 4th floor. Bed was good and comfortable, bathroom nice and clean. The noise from the street down below, people dinning outdoors, did some nights seep in a bit if the windows were left open but it wasn't bad.
For the location and the price it was hard to beat but as for the hotel itself, it was good but not very good. The front desk was helpful with directions on where to catch buses, calling a cab, etc. An slightly above average hotel with a super location - on a small side street off the main street.

Loved Albergo Cesari
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Cesari is centrally situated, and is absolutely convenient to everything in bella Roma. Rooms are spacious, clean, with all amenities. I've stayed in the Cesari six times and will be coming back again. The location and the people who run the Albergo are exceptionally nice and accomodating. Plenty of restaurants are in the immediate vicinity. All THE best tourist sites are within walking distance. I recommend Cesari highly. Madeline Breslin
Perfect location

If you like to walk everywhere this hotel is in the perfect location, just a few minutes in either direction to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Right off Via de Corso on a small side street.
But be warned, this is definitely not a luxury hotel. I had a small single and even though the room itself was small and charmless the fact that I could open the real outside shutters and listen to music from the piazza below in the evening more than made up for it. I found the staff exceptional and the free internet access in the lobby an extra bonus.
Well worth the price for the convenience and the ambience of old Rome.

We stayed at the Hotel Cesari for 7 nights (Nov 2-9, 2003) and couldn't have been more pleased! The hotel was within a 5 minute walk of The Pantheon, Piazza Narvona, Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps as well as countless shops and restaurants. The hotel is only a block off the Via Del Corso which has easy access to the bus lines we used frequently. Rome's metro/bus lines are well marked and user friendly. Make sure you check the direction the bus is going, however. We got on the 990 going the wrong way and spent an hour going in circles before getting to our correct stop! The room was good sized with a large, tiled bathroom. Our only complaint was having to wait about 20 minutes for the water to heat before showering! The breakfast was outstanding with meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, fruit and great cappaccino! The staff was helpful and friendly. They made dinner suggestions, called for taxis, confirmed flights, etc. Since we didn't speak Italian, this was a great help.I would definitely stay here again!

Alter Of Peace For an eclectic experience of the ancient and ultra-modern, seek out the Altar of Peace Museum, near the Mausoleum of Augustus.
TOURS I went on the internet and prebooked our tours around the major attractions. this worked out to be a very good idea.......did not have to queue at all
