Top Local Tips for Rome
Sistine Chapel: Wait, go later The Chapel opens at 830am. The line forms early, starting around 715am and then at 830am, they let a bunch of folks in. The problem is that you then have to wait for people to leave before anyone else gets in. I got in line at 840am and waited 2h45mins to get in. When I left the Chapel at 1230pm, the line was much shorter and moving regularly and much faster than it was at 9am. So wait! If you can't get there early, wait until after 1230pm and you won't spend all day in line.
A lesson learned Do your research and find out the average cost of the type of accommodation you want. website photos photos only show the best ...email queries to the hotel before you go. If you are disappointed on arrival make a complaint as soon as possible which is what we were told by the staff at this hotel and request a better room.
