Top Local Tips for Rome
Student discounts and Discount for people 18-24 years in living in the EU Take some photo ID with you if you are between 18 and 24 and in the EU. Or some places do a discount if you are below 18 years, 15 years etc. We showed our driving license or student card, but I suppose a passport would be ok if you wanted to risk taking it everywhere with you (ours were kept in our safe in our room just in case!).
Watch your handbags ladies. I was ok because hubby carried money belt around neck, but we met others who were robbed, wallets & purses can easily be snatched out of your handbags without your knowledge especially on the subway. Be careful and vigalent at all times.

The Hotel is within walking distance up a hill from the train station. Do a Google map and you will be fine. My guess is its a mile or two. The staff understands English. Talk clearly and slowly and you will be fine.
Don't take a cab unless you get a price ahead of time. Some of the cabs will try and charge you over 30 euros. You can go to the airport for that much.
There are several eating places within 2-5 minutes of the hotel. The location is safe and although not in Rome's center. You are not paying too much for the room either.
The morning breakfast will get you well into the day.
From the train station you can get the subway or one of the many tour buses that allow you to get off and on all day long for one fee.
