Cautions
Well kept, clean but small rooms, thin walls. Reservation issue: made a reservation for a large room for our family several months before arrival in late december. On arrival, we were told that due to an electrical problem two floors would be closed for repair, and we were moved into three rooms(for the same price -- Two small courtyard facing rooms for our children and a double for us). The tale told to justify the change was not true, but it worked out anyway. Confirm reservations before you arrive. Nice rooftop breakfast room, helpful staff.

A lovely place to stay
We spent a memorable week in Rome at the Barberini. The staff spoke good English and were helpful over a problem with the booking. Rooms clean and comfortable. Stunning views of Rome from the rooftop breakfast room got the day off to a great start, and the breakfast staff were cheery and welcoming. Not cheap (but what is in Rome?), but if budget permits, we would definitely stay there again
