The pictures shown on the internet is not of the hotel but of the church at the top end of Via XX Settembre : Porta Pia. That is a mis-interpretation. No mention of the hotel being split into two buildings.
Overall impression ; very mediocre.

Top Local Tips for Rome
Ryan Air On the plane you will be offered bus tickets to get you to the railway station. Don't buy because when you arrive in the airport there are busses cheaper and you do not have to queue. Taxis are reasonable
The Rome Metro Make sure that you buy a day ticket for getting around as the single tickets are really dear to buy on their own and chances are that you'll need to use the Metro a lot to get between all the different places that you need to see.
Watch your wallet Someone picked my pocket on the bus. I knew this was a problem in room but I had a 30seconds lapse in thinking. Apparently the number 62 bus is the worst - we have italian family connections (no not in that way) who call it The Tourist Bus.

We also didn't intend to spend hours a day in the room it was just to sleep in and out early in the morning and return late at night. So space wasn't a huge factor.
The maids were quick as can be and the room looked clean and tidy when we came back.
My only real complaint is the size of the bathroom, it is EXTREMELY small...small doesn't really describe how TINY this bathroom was, but again I didn't intend to live in the bathroom, just a quick shower and sleep.
We checked in with a guy in reception who was overly friendly with my girlfriend, but in humour it was all good. The other reception was quite helpful and always attended to our needs e.g. Bags/Calling for Taxi's etc.
All in all it was a pleasant stay, I wouldn't recommend it if your coming with a family over 2 people as the room will be even more cramped.
But if your just planning to sleep and go out then Baltic is fine as it's very close to the center of everything in Rome and close to Termini too.
