Like what most of the other reviewers have mentioned, our room was very small and very cramped, but very clean and surprisingly comfy.
We also didn't intend to spend hours a day in the room it was just to sleep in and out early in the morning and return late at night. So space wasn't a huge factor.
The maids were quick as can be and the room looked clean and tidy when we came back.
My only real complaint is the size of the bathroom, it is EXTREMELY small...small doesn't really describe how TINY this bathroom was, but again I didn't intend to live in the bathroom, just a quick shower and sleep.
We checked in with a guy in reception who was overly friendly with my girlfriend, but in humour it was all good. The other reception was quite helpful and always attended to our needs e.g. Bags/Calling for Taxi's etc.
All in all it was a pleasant stay, I wouldn't recommend it if your coming with a family over 2 people as the room will be even more cramped.
But if your just planning to sleep and go out then Baltic is fine as it's very close to the center of everything in Rome and close to Termini too.

Given Room 111. This room is so small even for one person. Bathhroom way to small and very cramped and I believe dangerous in its design. Requested room change. Had to wait 3 days. Moved to Room 112 ( next to 111 ). This was a larger room with a much better bathroom. On the morning we were leaving we discovered that the room had ants, upon leaving we informed the reception. Will they do something, I doubt it. Hotel basic but room clean ( other than the ants ). Reception staff not that helpful. Breakfast limited. Good coffee and tea. Space cramped.Maids very helpful, more helpful than the reception staff who did not like criticism. Hotel location just about OK. Easy walk to the Termini. Rome is wonderful the Baltic is not.
The pictures shown on the internet is not of the hotel but of the church at the top end of Via XX Settembre : Porta Pia. That is a mis-interpretation. No mention of the hotel being split into two buildings.
Overall impression ; very mediocre.

Even for a two-star hotel the Baltic was a disappointment. First of all, the hotel claims to have a toilet in every room. This is plainly not true. We arrived to find just a shower. When we asked the staff, they informed us our room was unique and due to the building architecture the toilet had to be down the hall. Supposedly we would be the only ones using this hallway toilet, but by its deterioration in cleanliness (you don't want details) during the time we stayed there it was clearly being used by others. We complained, and they promised to move us to a different room as soon as one became available. Two nights later, they moved us to the second building. For our last night, we had a toilet. However, there was urine on the floor and the place smelled. We had to chase down a maid who gave a half-hearted attempt to clean it up, so in the end we doused the floor in soap ourselves. And to top it off, the air conditioning in our new room didn't work (this is in July). Needless to say, we will never stay there again and wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone.

Hotel is strangely split between two buildings. (3 buildings apart) This is not mentioned or made clear in any of Hotel Baltics details/advertisements.Very misleading! We are a family of 5. (2 adults and 3 teenagers) Four of us were in the main building and one (our teenage son)was three doors down the road!! Bizarre. Rooms were very small and drab. We had to remind ourselves that we were only there to sleep. Comfort factor was zero. We knew it was only a 2 Star Hotel but still felt ripped off. Plus points were:It was clean, staff were friendly and Rome centre was very accessible.
