Top Local Tips for Rome

main attractions when going to the colloseum it is worth it to get a guide. they are usually everywhere adn they recruit people asking them if they want an english speaking tour. it was only 11euro above the price of admission and included a tour of palantine hill. you bypass the line and have a guided tour of the colloseum which i found very helpful. same at the vatican we found a tour guide who gives a free english speaking tour of st.peters basilica(his name was jason, he's from toronto)and he gathers people in line and tells you a lot of super interesting things that normal people probably wouln't know. he also of course does a tour of the vatican which you pay for but you dont have to take.

Airport to room Take the Leonardo express from the airport to Termini. Leave Termini by the front door (see all the busses). Walk toward the busses, keep going and you will see the yellow National Museum of Rome on your left. Keep walking past the museum and you walk into the Piazza Republica- covered stone pedestrian walkway- see the McDonalds and Warner Brothers Cinema. This will dump you onto VIa Nazionale. Look left down the street, see a Mel Bookstore- look up- you will see a sign for the hotel right near there. It's about a 3-5 minute walk from the train station.
