Don't expect comfort! The bus service in Rome is fantastic - there are buses to nearly every major tourist attraction and best of all they run on time and frequently. Tickets for 1 journey to a day to longer can be purchased in most newsagents. The only thing is not to expect comfort! People in Rome cram onto the buses and there seems to be no upper limit imposed. During a busy journey expect to be squashed, stood on and have to endure some nasty odours all without apology!

Rome Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes as you will do some amount of walking in Rome.

General if you are going to the Forum, take a little something to feed the cats. Don't carry big purses or bulky bags (the sidewalks are too narrow and like all big cities, you need to be cautious).
