Restaurant lets them down

stayed as part of large group mainly elderly. hotel is beautifully decorated throughout with plenty of seating areas inside and out. restaurant was the disappointment indicated elsewhere...lots of pork, pasta, bad attitude from staff...so they're busy - what is their problem? If you can afford it, eat out at night. otherwise, bar staff lovely, ditto cleaners, reception. pool clean, plenty of sun loungers. would def go again,location right in middle of shops,2 supermarkets, right next to lake, etc etc. but would not not not eat in restaurant at night. oh, and no tea/coffee facilities in room. yoda says travel kettle you need or money to buy.

I found the restaurant staff at La Perla to be ignorant and very bad mannered; the hotel is run to suit the management and not the customer. The silly idea that you must sit at the same table every morning & night of your stay is beyond belief, in this day and age a hotel should be able to manage a selection of one or two meals without having to have it ordered 24 hours in advance.

The rooms in the hotel are nothing like what is shown on their web site, my room was very small and the shower room was ridiculous, it was so small I had to take the toilet roll out of the holder when I was having a shower, as the shower was right over the toilet.

Top Local Tips for Riva del Garda

Buses which did not turn up Be careful when trying to catch a bus to towns out of the way. We waited one hour for bus to Malchesine and it did not turn up. Try to use the Ferry as much as possible for getting out and about. Buses are great and cheap for local towns.

Go to the market There is a weekly market that rotates to Limone, Malcsine and Riva - if you can to get to it, then you will love it - from bags to clothes to housewares, it is enormous, and it's great fun just wondering the stalls looking for bargains, and they can be had if you look carefully - the locals all go as well as tourists - a great atmosphere!
