The hotel is right on the front of the lake. We had paid extra for a room with a lake view and a balcony, and we were really glad we had done so. The room itself was spotlessly clean and the linen was changed every day. The food was adequate and the waiting staff were efficient and friendly. The dining room where the hotel guests were given breakfast and dinner was very cramped however. There are plenty of restaurants close by, and one bar in particular, in the Via Florida, where you can be assured of a warm welcome and an excellent glass of wine.

Having stayed at this hotel in 2005 we were looking forward to going back, but it had gone downhill. One of the shutters in our room was broken and it took a week of complaining to get it fixed. The Manager was rude, and the dining room staff were not as pleasant as before. We will not go back.

Don't believe the bad reviews! We went to Riva this summer and stayed in Hotel Centrale for a week. The staff could not have been nicer, the breakfast was excellent, the room was scrupulously clean, we had a great view of the lake, the location was fantastic, we were not charged for the use of a room safe and the power shower was exhilirating. Go there and enjoy. It's a 3 star hotel and it's great value for money.

Very pleased with our room, food was average, but service very good.
Reception staff helpful, and overall very clean and well kept.
Laundry changed every day, and room cleaned.
Location of Hotel excellent right in the centre.
Have been in this resort 3 times before staying in different hotels but always find plenty to do and have made lots of friends.

Cafe de Paris (Robertos) You must visit this charming cafe where the host Roberto and his lovely wife Maria provide the best welcome possible. It's just around the corner from the hotel.

day trip Go on the day trip to Verona, fascinating city, very historical.

Rent a bike even if you're not much of a cyclist. There are a couple of good bike rental shops in Riva and there is a good network of cycle tracks in the area. If you're like us get City bikes as they are cheaper and more comfortable. Try the bike trail from Torbole to Arco which is much flatter than you might think. Arco is well worth the visit and you can do a round trip to Riva if you get the navigation right. Just remember to cycle on the right hand side of the cycle track or road!!
