Top Local Tips for Positano

Getting to Positano From Naples Molo Beverello (main port), take the Metro del Mar boat to Positano. There is one at 8.25am and 2.15 pm. They will not sell tickets for it, until about 15 min before it leaves - that's Italy for you. The boat makes a few stops, but it is inexpensive, at 11 euro each, and SO MUCH easier with luggage, than taking the local train, to Sorrento, and from there, the bus to Positano, and no comparison to the cost of a private taxi, which is exhorbitant. Plus, the boat puts you at the main beach of Positano, where there are luggage porters

Getting to Positano from Naples Airport If you've got the time, the ferry from Naples is a great way to get to Positano. Bus or 20-25 euro taxi from Naples airport to the port (Molo Beverello), then 1.5 hour ferry to Positano. Costs 14 euro one way. Air-conditioned and comfortable, or if not too hot, you can sit on the top level and enjoy the sun and views. If I was short on time though and had people to share the cost, I'd just get a driver to take me straight from Naples airport to Positano. I think it costs about 100 euro but definitely less hassle.
