what to expect - geography take the bus up into the main (old) city of perugia, if arriving by train. Walk around! you will enjoy it. At the end of the main street, opposite of the Piazza, there is an escalator that you can take to the city below, where the Church of St. Peter (with the castle-looking circular bell tower) and the Chapels of St. Dominic (large square bell tower) can be visited, and are MUST SEES! They have incredible artwork inside, and architecture. REMEMBER: most churches are closed at 2pm. Dress modestly and NO PHOTOS!!! In the upper city, at the Church accross from Hotel Priori, where we stayed, inside is the incorrupt body of St. Phillipi Neri. This Chapel is guarded by uzi-weilding security officers at the doors when open. It is open only during mass times!
