local shopping and food and drink Visit the Bar Miramare which is on the right side of the street on your way to the port. This is owned by a family and one of the members is a girl from Scotland, she is very helpful and runs the local shop attached to the bar as well as being the local primary school teacher

trip to pompei make your own way there it`s much cheaper, we caught a bus to Positano train station and then caught the train to Pompei. as you get off the train go out of the station, cross over the road and walk straight ahead to the Piazza Bartolo Longo and turn left entrance on right (maps available in tourist information shops).Tickets for train available in local travel agent and they also supply bus and train timetables.
