Top Local Tips for Palermo

Hotel Ambassadori in Palermo The hotel is on the 5th floor with a small old elevator to take you there. The rooms were comfortable and perfect for our one night stay. The terrace on the 6th floor was a perfect setting for a lovely breakfast with breathtaking views of Palermo's skyline ( 360 degrees with coastal and mountain view). The staff was warm and accommodating. It got noisy around 5 a.m. Monday morning as business traffic started but was a quiet location for Sunday. Public transportation is very helpful. We did not have enough time to tour other than going on the "hop in and out tour bus". Would love to return and take time to absorb the architectural landmarks. Too little time to see everything. The bayview at night reminds of San Francisco. The visit on April 13 gave us beautiful weather with a few showers here and there. Very underrated in tourism. Termini is an hour away and Chefalu as well. Will stay on my list for return trip.

Visit Cefalu Take the train to Cefalu. Its about an Hour from Palermo and train leaves every 40mins or so (9 euro rtn). Great little town with a nice beach and quirky shops.
