The staff were extremely unhelpful and at times downright rude. There was a depressing atmosphere because of this almost as soon as we arrived. The rooms were OK although overpriced and the car parking was a joke. We had to pay somewhere in the region of 10 euros (give or take 2 as I recall) for car parking. This was expensive and there was some free street parking available but we thought it wouuld be worth it for peace of mind. How wrong we were! The "car park" was a full 10 minutes walk from the hotel (we had to follow a waiter as it was quite confusing) off a dimly lit, run down street with people loitering on it. It was a big nearly empty yard with no surveillance with a gate which pulled across but which did not lock. The fact that is was in no way secure and so far from the hotel makes it quite insulting that they charged so much. Had the staff in the hotel been friendly or helpful this would have stung less but as things were we left feeling quite disappointed with our stay. The serving staff (in the depressing restaurant) in the morning were as miserable as reception. The breakfast was poor and the butter was completely rancid. When we informed the lady serving breakfast she was very rude. She brought new pats of butter but did not remove the butter from the table which was so old it was practically cheese!
