Top Local Tips for Naples

Skip the Rental Car The Amalfi Coast has an excellent bus system and taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. The winding, narrow roads with many hair pin turns are clogged with giant tour buses, so it's best to avoid driving if you can.

Quiet Town The town is quite small and very tranquil so not so good if you have teenagers that want to go out every night. It´s a perfect place for anybody wanting to relax - the hotel grounds are lovely and you could happily stay there without going anywhere else. In saying that, it would be a waste not to visit places like Sorrento, Capri and Pompei but I´d recommend you get the hotel to arrange a driver unless you´re very confident on the roads! There is a fabulous pizzeria called Buenos Aires just a 5 minute walk from the hotel (in the town centre) which makes wonderful wood-oven baked pizzas - and it´s so cheap!

La dolce vita You can rent their classic Alfa Romeo spyder from the Hotel. It might cost more than Hertz (altho' probably not much in it) but if there's a better way to drive around the area I'd like to know what it is!
