The Hotel Majestic is located in Chiaia, a nice neighborhood, with many shops and restaurants nearby. Naples is a BIG city, so you will have to take a taxi or the metro (about four blocks away) to visit the city center. We are two ladies in our 50's and took the metro, during the day, with no problems at all. This is one of the nicest hotels we stayed in. Spacious rooms, clean, great beds, nice views, a good restaurant in the premises, and many other nearby. The bathroom was spotless, with all new fixtures and marble. Breakfast is a good value: meats, cheese, fruits, cereal, several kinds of juices and breads, eggs, coffe, chocolate (on request, no extra charge). The staff is nice and helpful, specially Guilia, a wonderful young lady who speaks perfect English and will go out of her way to accomodate your requests. She was able to arrange a car and driver for us to do the Amalfi Coast at the very last minute, for a competitive price. She also recommended some great restaurants. Thank You Giulia! The hotel has internet access but it is not free. I highly recommend this very, very good hotel.

Top Local Tips for Naples

Pompeii The tours to Pompei are really expensive, so it´s better you go to the Central Station and take the Circumvesuviana Train, wich is very cheap (something like 5 euros) and leads you literally to the door of the historical site in about 45 minutes. The train is old, but for this price it´s a very nice option! Just be aware to the time you leave Pompeii, because there are train only in a half-hour or 40-minute basis, so if you loose one, it´s gonna be a great time without nothing to do waiting for the other. And take a bottle of water and a sandwich with you, because inside of the site and in the restaurant in front of it they are soooo expensive and pretty bad taste.

Take Care Check taxi fares from the airport with the driver. On Sunday fares are double but nothing is said until you arrive at the destination.Naples is very busy for traffic so allow plenty of time for journeys and taxis are expensive.

Aerobus from Airport Aerobus leaves from in front of the airport and runs to both the main railway station and Castel Nuovo for the harbour. If you want to do the museums in Naples there is a 3 day museum/travel card you can buy at the airport and this includes the Aerobus.
