The hotel is in the medievel part of the city on one of it's roughly paved narrow roads. It is clean and the multilingual staff are freindly. Some say they felt threatened being in such a busy, somewhat boistrous community but I must say I never did. Now the bad parts. The rooms are advertised as having an internet connection in the room but during my stay the hotel was not connected to the internet and no-one tried to get it connected. My room (209) was under the dining room so I got noise from around 6-30 am each morning. The shower head fell to pieces. Tips. The Italians respond better to you if you make the effort to speak a little of the language. Don't walk around with your wallet sticking out of your back pocket or your camera in the top of your holdall! Amazing how often I saw this. Taffic is fast and does not obey the rules very well as you can tell by 80% of cars being damaged so take extra care! The staff on the railways here hate tourists to a man and will show it by being very rude and sending you the wrong way for your train. They will also overcharge for tickets. Also do not expect signs to tell you where to catch a train to say, Pompei, there aren't any. If one of them offers to help you it is only to get money from you so avoid the railway if you can. Lastly this is not a tourist orientated town so you need to be self sufficient in finding your way around.
