Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, our room had mindblowing views over the Bay of Naples. Only let down by the quality of the restaurant food - breakfast was fine, dinner was very poor indeed.

Top Local Tips for Naples

CHeck out the view! Naples itself is not at the top of my (or anyone elses's) list of destination spots. Rather, one goes to Naples for Pompeii, the Amalfi coast, and Capri-and maybe the city of Naples as an added feature. Having said that, its harbor is gorgeous!

Don't bother unless you're climbing Vesuvius Naples isn't worth visiting except for its proximity to Vesuvius. You're better off to try and stay somewhere outside of Naples for your visit to Vesuvius and Pompeii. If you don't plan on going to both of those locations, don't even go to Naples. It's not worth it. The city is dirty, the food choices are not good (at least in the areas that we saw), the people drive like absolute maniacs (cab drivers, shuttle van drivers, EVERYONE!), and the roads are very poor, making for a not-so-comfortable ride if you're in the third row of a van. On top of that, the public transportation system is very poor, being that it goes to very few places within the city, is very dirty, very dark, and feels (I stress feels because I did not specifically have or witness any problems) dangerous.
