I probably could not have afforded to stay here if I were not in a tour group. Elegant, large rooms, huge bathroom, breathtaking view of mountain and gardens. Beds were a little lumpy. Staff very accommodating. Would have liked to have stayed longer.

If you are comfortable in oppulent surroundings, and appreciate old traditional service and good manners, then this is the hotel for you. The Grand Hotel La Pace is situated in beautiful private gardens with a good sized swimming pool. (I would not recommend this hotel for young families, as the children I would imagine would be bored, with very little to do, other than play in the swimming pool). The breakfast buffet is more than ample to set you up for the day, but I must warn you that the lunch and dinner prices, where a little over priced in my view, although the food was excellent. A very adult luxury holiday, in historical romantic surroundings. Montecatini Terme is very cosmopolitan with fantastic shopping. The hotel lends itself to being a fantastic and luxurious base for the culture vultures out there.
