Great centre to explore Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc by train. Clean and comfortable room. Staff quite reserved but polite and very helpful. Pool virtually empty and nice but cool. Lot of comfortable seating in and around hotel to relax. Breakfast basic continental but fresh and tasty. Good value for what we paid(£23 per person per night b and b) Mostly used by coach tour company stays for 2 or 3 nights only. We feel we got better attention as there longer.

Overrated!!! Rude and unhelpful front-desk staff; cold rooms due to draft on 2nd floor; will not turn on heat until after 7:00pm; front desk personnel would not allow transfer of room until tour guide intervened; poorly organized for tour group breakfasts.

nice montecatini restuarant Il Vicolo on Via Bovio is cheap and good food. Steaks wonderful

Montecatini Terme You must check out Montecatini Alto. Access by Funiculare (railway). Small and beautiful with plenty of cafes. Check out the church (St Peter's I think) for a fabulous and free presentation of the nativity. Parking is expensive but look for free parking in car park north west of hotel and about 10 mins walk.
