Wonderful Caring People, Great Food

We were part of a group tour. The food was very good, waiters were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and the pool was beautiful. My six year old son was ill (got sick on the plane on the way to Italy, and remained ill for several days) and everyone from the owner to the maids to the waiters and barman took a personal interest in making our stay special--hard to do with a sick child. They called him their Bello Bambino, made special food for him and helped us to obtain medical care when needed. They checked on us regularly, and treated us like family. This hotel is a special place--the people are friendly and interesting, and willing to spend time with tourists who are interested in learning the Italian way. They also don't interefere with guests who prefer to do things on their own. A good skill in a hotel that often is the base for groups. Wonderful! We plan to go back on our own.

Shame about the food

The hotel was nice and clean. The pool was lovely. But the food was not great. There was no choice on the menu and the portions were very small in food that we did get. One member of our group had to ask for more food every night of our stay and the waiters (2) did not seem too pleased to be asked for more. We were left to wait for our food, while another group were being served, as there were only two waiters to serve over a hundred guests ! ! ! Most nights it took over two hours for our group to finish our meal as the service was so slow. Overall the service of the evening meal let the hotel down.
