Our group of students spent 2 nights at the Cristallino. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and the food good and filling.
There were some problems however - a student was able to mistakenly get into my room with his key. He had gone out for a run and when he got back misread the room number - his key worked in our door! My husband and I had just gone to bed or else we might have really been startled.
The second incident was much more serious. Apparently the hotel turns the air conditioning off at night to save money. It got pretty hot when we were there and consequently everyone opened the sliding glass doors to their balconies. We had one room of students who were on the 2nd floor that got robbed. Someone came in through the sliding glass doors and found the wallets of 2 of the 3 in that room. One wallet was in the back pocket of some jeans on the floor and the other was in the student's shaving kit. This happened during the middle of the night! Thankfully the thieves didn't take any credit cards or passports - only cash and some watches.
We found out later that this had happened 9 times during the previous year. The manager was anxious to keep a lid on it and didn't really encourage reporting it to the police. He also would not keep the air on for the following night. We ended up piling chairs in front our sliding glass door but didn't sleep well regardless.
The rest of the staff was great.

Our educational travel excursion spent three nights here at the Cristallino. The hotel was elegant and charming. The staff was helpful and personable. The rooms were extremely clean and the restaurant served fine food and excellent wine. The grounds were well- kept and the location was great- close to the mineral baths, restaurants, and shopping district. I hope to visit again.

Food was dreadful, rooms quite tatty but clean.
Pool very small and busy with families.
Staff couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful and this made up for everything else.
