Una notte al frida, a Isola Isola is a nice quarter, full of young people and nice bars with live music

el Barbapedana--authentic Milanese cuisine à l'ancienne A small restaurant tucked into a block of boutiques and restaurants at Corso Colombo 7, across from the Porta Genovese Train Station, the Barbapedana is a wonderful surprise in great cuisine at very modest prices. Just a few tables, the room is always full of regulars and local residents. Specialties on a given day include pumpkin risotto with truffle oil, fried gnocchi with parma ham, traditional Milanese stew, manza steak. Desserts are chocolate cake, coconut pie, icecreams, and more. The house red wine in a carafe is as good as any you could order in a bottle. For us, a trip to Milan is not complete without a meal at the Barbapedana.
