Top class

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Starhotels Andesron from 13th to 15th May and agree with all the positive comments. For the money ( GBP 50 per double room per night) it's just about the best value we have ever had in a hotel and more than a match for hotels priced much higher. Absolulutely spotlessly clean, good sized rooms and a very good complimentary breakfast including a hot buffet. Our experience is that you can always trust the comments on Tripadvisor, and thanks to all who made such good comments that helped us to choose a great hotel!!

Unbelievable value

from pina
Hotel was a great choice thanks to Tripadvisor's reccommendation we stayed a total of 3 nights on April 24 and then again on April 29 and 30 at the onset and tail end of our multi-city trip. Easy access to Malpensa and all other cities via Stazione Centrale. Would definetely return to this hotel. The rooms are great and the decor is very modern but yet quite comfortably and tastefully arranged. Could easily be labeled ""Boutique Hotel", it certainly feels like one. The area surrounding Duomo, which is about a mile or so away from the hotel, is fabulous. Also check out the Salernitano restaurant on Via Scarlatti and Via Vetruvio several blocks from hotel, great pizza, pasta and seafood. Hotel restaurant is also quite good. Staff is absolutely wonderful, polite and helpful in all ways. Massimo and Anna are the best. The Cenario (Last supper) is a must do. Area surrounding is a bit seedy but safe enough. Watch out for pickpockets at the Centrale Station. They are quick and sleek.

Nice!!!

from sannasun
Just returned from 2 days stay at the Starhotel Anderson.

LOCATION: Its a nice hotel close to Stazione Centrale.
The neighborhood is not the greatest, but isn't
threatening or anything. I walked to the train station
around midnight and didn't find it dangerous. Two main
metro lines meet at Stazione Centrale which gives easy
access to Duomo and shopping areas like MonteNapoleone
and BuenosAires.

ROOM: I stayed at a double bed for single use. It was
quite spacious with good ventilation. I was able to
feel the vibrations of train at the lobby of the hotel,
but my room in the 5th floor was pretty quiet and free of
any vibrations. The hotel and the room has nice
contemporary decor. The room has heated towel racks,
plentiful storage, good lighting, bathrobes and slippers,
hair dryer. The room and bathroom are spacious per
european standards. The small LCD TV screen in bathroom
was cool, but noticeably missing is BBC in the channel
lineup in the room. The hotel has best beds and offer
different kinds of pillows for free.

STAFF: Staff were very friendly and speak decent english.

SERVICES: The room has WiFi high speed wireless internet
access and the service is available from Swisscom Eurospot
for 22 euros from the time you first login until 11am.
I believe there is free internet as well in the lobby.
The fitness center was little disappointing with treadmill
noticeably missing. The fitness center has stationary bicycle,
a bench, free weights upto 10 kilos and a multi-purpose
weight bench. Luggage storage is free if you are going
around town after check-out. The non-availability of laundry
services in weekends was disappointing, but its common in
most Italian hotels.

To SUM UP, the hotel is aptly rated 4 star and lives up
to its star rating. I would stay there next time too - if
I get a good deal again.

Perfect Overnighter

For our single evening in Milan, we chose the Starhotel Anderson based upon TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed.

Upon first walking up to the hotel, I was a bit concerned...the outside appearance isn't as gleaming as what the website showed, but then looking around at the other buildings, it was the same layer of grime on the windows as everywhere else. Upon walking down into the lobby, I was much relieved. Checking in was not a hassle and the gentlemen behind the desk spoke great English and was quite helpful in answering my wife's questions about shopping and getting around town.

We were able to get the Executive room for only 4 Euros more than the standard, and were quite pleased. The room was modern but not cold, tastefully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. I would put it on the smaller side of average size in America and on the larger side for Europe. The bed was large and comfortable with four choices of pillows if requested. The room included a minibar and internet access. The bathroom was as big as in America and large for Europe. Bidet, shower/tub, and 10cm TV included.

We had our included breakfast of pastries, coffee, juice sent to our room for a small service charge.

As we were sitting in the bar, we did notice a bit of train rumble that could be percieved from our 6th floor. NOTHING that kept my wife or me awake. I preferred the easy access to the train station/metro station. We would have no problem staying here again.

Even better value!

from neiltsm
Sometimes when one reads these reviews then one does wonder what the place is *really* going to be like! But I have to say this place is excellent, not only because the hotel offers 5* service but also for the value for money. I arrived at 10.45am on Saturday morning fully expecting just to leave my case there whilst amusing myself until 2pm check-in, but they checked me straight in and I was in the room freshening up by 11am! Not only that, but I got the hotel for 90 Euros booking with them direct. The only minor caveat would be that the station area is pretty grotty but everywhere is accesible via taxi.

An excellent place to stay for a weekend and in my case, to see Scotland play at the San Siro.

Friendly Anderson

Stayed here for 3 nights in March.

The room was excellent with anything you might need, similarly the bathroom was excellent with a wonderful bath and necessary toiletries. There was a range of international TV other than British

The included breakfast was excellent and could be enjoyed in your room for an extra e2.58. This and the room price rated as very good value against 4 other similarly graded hotels I have stayed in here.

Staff, no matter whom, were without exception friendly and helpful.

I drove in the city, travelling elsewhere also, and despite arriving at midnight and 2.30 am respectively there was someone to park my car. The car was returned exactly when I asked it to be. The location was fine for me, indeed a plus for drivers in what could be the worst signposted city in Western Europe, being next to the station. Wouldnt worry too much about people near hotel. Worst thing I saw was 2 female beggars asking for parking money from motorists who had already paid an attendant.

Only 2 negatives, being on the 3rd floor did suffer from, train/tube rumble, on the other hand I never heard another guest whilst I was in my room. This did not stop me sleeping in the excellent bed nor did it wake me.

Room was hot, opening the window let in sealed out noise. In common with many other hotels in Europe Aircon not switched on at this time of year.

Would certainly stay here again.

Great hotel and convenient location

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is located right across the plaza from the main train station which makes it easy to hop on a train to get to all of the major sites in town (Duomo, Last Supper, La Scala, etc). The airport bus service is also located at the station so it is great for transportation to/from the airport as well. A bus will cost you 9e and a cab will cost you almost 60e. The rooms are comfortably sized, although some of the bathrooms can feel a little bit cramped depending on the room that you are in. I was in various parts of Europe for 3 weeks and this hotel had the best beds, linens, and pillows out of all the hotels including one on the Champs Elysees in Paris and one on Park Lane in London. Breakfast was included with the room rate and offered a very good variety. The hotel restaurant was very good as well. Free internet access is available on the lobby computer or you can connect in-room for a fee. Staff were very polite and helpful and most spoke English.

Great hotel!

from sueveed
The rooms are attractively decorated and quite large for European rooms. The bathrooms are wonderful with small TVs. The breakfast, included with the room, is great and the food in the restaurant for dinner is also very good. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The hotel also offers free Internet acces in the lobby. The only negative, as other reviewers mentioned, is the location. But at these prices it is definitely worth a Metro ride down to the Duomo. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Superb hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Choosing a quality hotel at a reasonable price in Milan is difficult. Believe the reviews of Starhotel Anderson! It is an excellent hotel in a good location (handy for all transport).

I have just stayed here for 3 nights. Comfortable bed, stylish interior, good breakfast and professional staff. But don't be put off by the hundreds and hundreds of people that congregate in the park between the railway station and the hotel over the weekends - this is a lovely hotel despite the slightly seedy surroundings.

I was travelling on my own in Italy and felt fine getting to and from this hotel. Just hold on tightly to your belongings!

Wonderful hotel!

from gill61uk
We have just returned from a weekend in Milan and we booked this hotel based on the other reviews. We were not disappointed! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is very chic. Our room was contemporary and the bathroom was spotless with a great shower. Also a small LCD tv in there!

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was of a high standard and we also ate in the hotel one evening. The quality of the food was excellent and the service was courteous. Thankfully the price for dinner for two was also pleasing.

The staff were extremely pleasant and couldn't do enough for us but they weren't pushy. The only negative as is mentioned before is that the hotel is not in a great area. Stazione Centrale isn't very nice at night and we couldn't really find any bars/restaurants close by. However, do not let this put you off as the metro is nearby and in a matter of minutes you can be in the lovely Brera neighbourhood sipping a drink and watching the world go by.
