Historical Traveller Reviews of Sheraton Diana Majestic Hotel

Perfect stay in Milan, thank you to the Diana

from annchristie
I was a bit unsure as there were mixed reviews of this hotel but we had a lovely time. The hotel is in a perfect place, not far from the station and about 15 minutes to the Duomo. The bar was lovely, all chandeliers and big sofas and very busy at predinner cocktail time. Rooms were very nice. Staff were very friendly and most helpful-they recommended local restaurants as well. I booked through Precision reservations as otherwise we couldnt have afforded such a nice place. We went in March but during the summer it must be even better as the courtyard garden is beautiful. Highly recommended

Okay, but not worth the money

from Toertie
The Sheraton is in a really nice location - near to the underground, sightseeing and shopping streets. Rooms are nice and clean, but quite small. The service is not the friendliest (like everywhere in Milan). Breakfast is also o.k. All in all the hotel is good, but overpriced. So better donĀ“t take any extras or something from the minibar, coz then you have your "little wonders" at the end of your trip.

Okay

from love2travel79
Milan was stop 1 of 4 during our Italian holiday. My husband and I decided to stay at this hotel because we are SPG members. Our stay was OKAY. It met our basic needs and expectations but not impressed. The lobby and common areas are great. But I found the rooms to be run down. The carpet on the stairs needs replacement. The H bar is great, excellent service, hip scene and great drinks. The hotel is located walking distrance from the main attractions. The Metro stop is less than 1 block away.

Tips:
1. Visit the Brera area at night, for good food and a hip scene.
2. Make reservations to see the Last Supper well in advance.

Not Worth the money

I stayed at the Diana Majestic for a work for 7 nights. This hotel is in a great location and in walking distance from the shopping areas which I liked. However, the service is terrible, the rooms are run down and not what you will expect for the steep prices. The only saving grace is the bar and outside courtyard which is expensive but chic. Do not stay here unless someone else makes you and is paying.

Excellent Service

from MonikaB
From the moment I arrived, the hotel staff provided excellent service, from the guys on the door, through to the front desk, concierge and room service team. It made staying here a pleasure!
Sure the rooms are small and decorated in an old fashioned way - but so are most Italian hotels. This is about the 10th hotel I have stayed at in Milan - and the first that I want to go back to.

Overpriced

from Smithjtb
I spent 2 nights at this property after a 5 week journey around Eastern and Central Europe. It was certainly the most expensive hotel I stayed at on my travels and seems to be a typical Milanese experience: expensive, stylish & beautiful in places and very average once you look below the surface.

The bar, garden, restaurant area are very fashionable, pricey but well worth a look, and perhaps a visit for a drink if you are not staying in house.

The rooms, VERY standard, uninspired decor (you could be anywhere in the world). Room service pricey and below par.

Reception service, aloof but generall efficient. Breakfast is very expensive, and while the ambience is nice, the buffet selection is uninspired.

Don't even bother to contact anyone using the telephone... very long wait to be answered and then often placed on hold.

A standard property which would be exceptional with better management and the same design flair used in the lounge extended to guest rooms.

Overpriced

from Padme
Service is nice and helpful but the rooms are much too small for the price and more resemble some 3* holes. Standard rooms are simply not worth it, de luxe ones are fine but I am sure you can find better options for 470 euro/ night even in Milan.

Location is not that bad at all even though you cannot see the Dome from the window of your room. You can get to the very centre after a relaxing 15 minutes walk.

I personally liked the somewhat freaky art deco style of the hotel but some people preferring either modern or classical style may be disappointed.

Breakfast is 28 euros and is certainly not worth it (I mean it is fine but not worth this money anyway). Coffee is awful but in my experience this is a problem at most hotels, even 5*. Shame it is true for Italy too.

Very good hotel

This is a very good hotel within walking distance to shopping and Duomo. The room was nice, so was the service. Nothing was spectacular, but very good.

You cannot miss it

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Hotel is beautiful and comforting from registration to check out. It has everything you could ever want or need. The Garden in amazing and people are friendly. Hard to find any complaints about this hotel. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever experienced. If you are going to plan your holiday in Milan, this is the right place to be.

Loved it

from LollyB
What a wonderful hotel. Stayed in room 118 overlooking the garden and the room was huge and the bathroom even bigger. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. We managed to get a very good offer for our stay at the hotel so did pay well under the normal price.

Our room was very clean with bed linen and towels changed daily. There is a wonderful bar area which doubles up as a club in the evenings but we never heard any noise in the evenings when we went to bed.

It is in an excellent position, around a 15 minute leisurely walk to the Duomo.

Will definitely stay here again and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Top Local Tips for Milan

Eating in Milan I have two recommendations: Calaluna which is beside the Diana Majestic hotel. Lovely seafood-and we have eaten quite alot around Italy and a good price. Looks basic but then all the best Italian restaurants do. The second is about 10 minutes walk from the Diana further down the road from Calaluna on Piazza del Tricolore and is called Antico Casale. No menu, you walk in select some antipasti or a past dish-the lovely owner will recommend a wine. Very good for a long relaxed lunch.

Duomo - top Take a lift or stairs to the top of Duomo. It's amazing up there!
