This hotel was a good value for my short time in Milan. It was a tad difficult without an elevator, but the people were most helpful and the patio was very relaxing.

Top Local Tips for Milan

coach from bergamo to Milan There is a bus every half hour from Bergamo airport into Milan Central Station which takes about an hour and in summer 2008 costs 14 Euros return. Very efficient

Church of San Maurizio & Monumental Cemetery It looks like any ordinary church, on the main street on the way to Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Last Supper, but go inside. There are actually two naves, one for the congregation and one behind the altar, for cloistered Benedictine nuns. Be sure to see both. The walls are entirely covered with vivid, floor-to-celing frescos that you can get up-close-and-personal with. And if you're lucky, the 16th-century organ will be playing. Also, take a tram to the Monumental Cemetery. It's a wonderland of countless 19th- and 20th-century sculptures in every imaginable style, and very unlike Pere Lachaise or anything you've ever seen.
